5 TIPS FOR KEEPING YOUR NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

5 Tips for Keeping Your New Year's Resolutions

If you have a habit of setting resolutions at the beginning of the year and then abandoning them a few days later, now is your chance to try something different. Imagine how the course of your life could change for the better if you followed through on your resolutions until you achieved your goals!

Change Your Thinking

It's very possible to overcome your habit of giving up on New Year's resolutions with a few basic tips. Above all else, avoid regarding your resolutions as something to aspire to and then forgetting them when they no longer seem pertinent or interesting. New Year's resolutions can be extremely enriching and self-improving if you find a way to maintain them throughout the year.

Here are some tips for keeping your resolutions:

1. Make a firm commitment. You must be willing to make a strong commitment to change in order for your resolutions to be successful. Believe that you can, and will, accomplish what you set out to do. If you give yourself unwavering support, then you'll bolster that belief and achieve what you seek.

Choose New Year's resolutions that you genuinely want to achieve. Make positive resolutions and focus on the positive aspects of achieving them.

Tell someone you trust about your resolutions. When someone else knows what you're setting out to achieve, they can help hold you accountable.

Plan ahead how you want your year to end and develop your goals based on that vision. See yourself at the end of the following year having achieved the goals and resolutions you set at the beginning on that year. It helps keep you focused and the sub-conscious mind works to create the vision and bring it to reality.

2. Have realistic expectations. Continued motivation is the key to achieving your goals. If you set the bar too high, then you also set yourself up for failure, which can be profoundly de-motivating for you.

Aim realistically, rather than too high. Give yourself a challenge, but not so much of a challenge that you end up setting yourself up for inevitable failure.

If you plan on setting similar resolutions as last year, consider first and foremost why last year's resolutions failed. If your resolutions didn't work last time, then determine why in order to avoid a repeat performance.

3. Write down your goals. When you put your resolutions into writing, you make them real. You put your commitment down on paper. Put your goals where you can see them, in written form, so you won't forget what you're setting out to achieve this year. You could even create a vision board or a vision book as a concrete reminder of what youre desiring to create.

4. Plan out your goals. Articulating what you intend to achieve this year is a big part of setting resolutions, but planning how to achieve them is a completely different story. Write down a plan for each resolution that you want to achieve rather than simply hoping for the best.

5. Give your goals flexibility. Not everything is going to work out exactly the way you planned, so be flexible in the goals that you set. Avoid allowing rigid resolutions to throw you off track if something doesn't go quite how you planned it. Try to predict what challenges you may face, and create a Plan B for those challenges if and when they arise.

Bottom Line

You can keep your New Year's resolutions if you do a little bit of planning and preparing ahead of time. Just like any goal setting process, the key is to be realistic about your goals and the challenges you may face in trying to achieve them. The more realistic and flexible you are, the more likely you'll be to achieve your goals.

9 - YEAR-OLD BOY SUSPENDED FOR CALLING TEACHER 'CUTE'

A nine-year-old North Carolina boy has been suspended from school for telling his teacher she was cute. Chiquita Lockett, the boy’s mother, was called into the principal’s office at Brookside Elementary, because her son committed an act of “sexual harassment.”

Officially, the boy was suspended for “inappropriate behavior” after making “inappropriate statements;” stated a spokeswoman for the school district.

Outraged by the overly exuberant penalty for stating the teacher was cute; Lockett stated; “it’s not like he went up to the woman and tried to grab her or touch her in a sexual way. So why would he be suspended for two days?”

The boy’s suspension came on the heels of a Massachusetts elementary school investigation of sexual harassment. A boy in that school struck another boy in the groin. That child was only seven years old and his mother states he was only trying to defend himself.

WORLD's LARGEST INSECT DISCOVERED IN NEW ZEALAND

Skooter reporting 12/05/11

Some say this is a huge grasshopper or a locust and I say maybe but I believe it’s a Weta Bug. Have you seen one? No? Same here, mate. For a entomophobia like me, this is not good health news. A former park ranger while traveling in New Zealand has tripped up across the world’s largest insect, a Weta Bug. It has a wing span of seven inches and the weight of three mice. You can just imagine how large it was.

Mark Moffett, 55, narrated his story to me. There were three of them walked the trails of this small island for two nights searching the vegetation for a giant weta,. They spent many hours with no luck finding nothing. But then they saw her up in a tree. The giant Weta is the largest insect in the world, and this is the biggest one ever found, Moffett said this with owlish eye.

If you have seen the insect you would have backed away at such a discovery. But Moffett held the giant insect in the palm of his hand and started feeding it with carrot.

The insect enjoyed the carrot so much she seemed to take no notice of the fact she was resting on Moffett hands and went on munching away. She would have consumed the carrot very quickly, but Moffett and the others were reminded that the weta is extremely endangered species and didn't want to risk indigestion. After she had gnawed a little Moffett took photos and they put her right back where they found her.

Watch a video of a smaller, but still huge, Weta Bug in action here. And yes, the man in the video actually eats one of the bugs. Bug preservationists need not be worried the smaller Weta for your info is not endangered:

The Weta Bug had a long history going back 180 million years, ahead of the dinosaurs, but was thought to be extinct after European explorers had innocently brought rats with them to New Zealand's Little Barrier island.

STAR ACTRESS BINTA AYO MOGAJI STRUCK BY STRANGE ILLNESS

Binta Ayo Mogaji is one of the few actresses who need no introduction in Nigeria’s movie industry. The actress is fondly referred to as Igbanladogi,a name she got from her role in Late Toba Opaleye’s chart busting film titled ‘IGBALADOGI’ years back.

It was a traumatic period for Ayo Mogaji’s family, friends and fans both home and abroad when the news broke sometime in September that the super actress was seriously ill.

It will be recalled that she relocated to London a couple of years back when she got married to her new husband who is based in the U.K, after her marriage to popular actor,Prince Jibola Dabor packed up.

The gist here is that Ayo Mogaji came to Nigeria to act in a T.V series ‘No Where To Be Found’, and also went on film location in Ghana. She was said to have slept at her Bodija home and didn’t wake up the next day and if not for a neighbor who went to check on her,the story would have been disastrous.

She was thereafter rushed to the hospital and she was in coma for 3 days at Bethel Hospital Opp.411 Club,Bodija where she was admitted.

The nature of her sickness was unconfirmed. It is believed in some quarters that she attempted to commit suicide, some however say she has no cause to do such. Those in the latter school of thought believe she has a career and she is married and as such has no reason to think such.

TOP ACTRESS FIGHTS COMEDIAN LOVER FOR EXPOSING THEIR BED GYMNASTICS

The last has definitely not been heard on the star actress whose marriage of over a decade just hit the rocks.Remember the failed marriage story we served you exclusively weeks back?

The latest on the messy issue is that days back, perhaps due to frustration and all the sleaze now trailing her,the actress got across to the comedian whose name featured as one of the people that wrecked her marriage. With bitterness written all over her,she couldn’t help but scream at her secret lover;”see, you broke my heart o!

Why will you sleep with me and later turn around and share our s*x secrets with all your friends? I will tell you the truth,I’m not happy with you and will never forgive you for doing that to me…”.

Going on and on,she wouldn’t even allow the guy to state his own side of the story before storming out.The actress in this ever-unfolding drama is dark skinned, slim, a mother of one and has the 11th alphabet beginning one of her names. From the South South, her alleged secret dalliances with other men of means and fame now dot the pages of newspapers and the internet.

Her comedian lover, meanwhile,is gradually proving himself to be so,so randy.Leaking on all corners, the second alphabet always does it for him.Equally married, but from the South East, scoring away goals no longer mean anything to him.But besides that, there’s also a lousy but very sumptuous ex-MBGN who has been an item with him for long, and many, many others.Their story too is gradually getting to the whole world.

Recalling how he bedded the actress,a reliable source said it was at an event and after the actress had become tipsy.

She sent the comedian a text, pleading with him to come to her room.On getting there,he met her naked and without wasting too much time or speaking too much grammar, they both did it!

The shocked comedian was with his pals when the invitation came. So,when he rushed out,he shared the good news with all those present. And little by little, the story began to spread till it collided with other equally unpleasant stories and ultimately wrecked the actress marriage.

I am about to spoil your day...and I am sorry...but y'all need to see this. My goodness, some people will not die well, I swear! Read the story below, as reported by Sunnewsonline

Who are the parents of the baby girl that was dumped in a swamp by suspected ritualists at 6th Avenue, Festac, Lagos, on Monday?

This is the question agitating the minds of hundreds of people who besieged the area to catch a glimpse of the unfortunate baby. The bizarre act was carried out at about 12noon.

A close look at the baby whose arms were tied, revealed that her upper region was ripped open and some organs removed. Her mouth was also stuffed with some materials or items apparently used for the rituals.

The uncensored photo when you continue...but please be warned that the photo is gruesome, heartbreaking, and so painful to look at...if you don't have the heart, don't continue...
The suspected ritualists came in six cars and were about 15 men and a woman.

A source told Daily Sun that he saw the people who arrived the scene in their cars and became curious. “I saw when they carried something and entered into the bush. I wanted to challenge them but I was afraid, because they were many. Immediately they left after some minutes, I entered into the bush, where I saw a little baby whose hands were tied. We later invited policemen from Festac.

Similar sacrifice was performed at the same place, the same period last year. We decided to monitor their activities this year. We are really worried about this ugly development,” he said.
Policemen from Festac later visited the scene and took pictures of the baby.

When the Daily Sun called the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, to comment on the incident, he did not pick his calls.

A source at the Area ‘E’ Police Command Festac, who confirmed the incident said the headquarters had been duly informed.
