Jim Iyke, Nollywood "Bad Boy", In Trouble Again Over N15 Million Fraud

A film actor, Jim Iyke, 35, was on Thursday arraigned before an Abuja Chief Magistrates' Court charged with N15 million fraud. The Police Prosecutor, Mr Chijoke Okezie, told the court that on Aug. 8, Habiba Abubakar wrote a petition to the Inspector General of Police (IG) to investigate the fraud. He said that investigation into the case revealed that the accused, a resident of Sunnyville Estate, Abuja, deceived Abubakar into acquiring 15 per cent equity shares to the tune of N15 million from his company, Untamed Records Ltd.

Okezie said the accused admitted that the complainant paid the money into his Oceanic Bank account No. 00500173691, deviating from his initial plan of investment and converted the money to his personal use. He added that when the complainant confronted the accused, he resorted to beating her and threatened to kill her. Okezie said the accused was charged with criminal breach of trust, criminal force, assault, cheating and criminal misappropriation which contravened sections 312,265,322 397 and 309 of the Penal Code.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges. Counsel to the accused, Esther Uzoma, made an oral bail application for the accused in pursuit of section 341(2) of the Criminal Procedural Code. She prayed the court to grant the accused bail on liberal terms and for self recognition, and promised that the accused would not jump bail.

However, Okezie objected to the bail application, saying that investigation into the case was not completed, and that criminal breach of trust was not ordinarily billable. Chief Magistrate Okeagu Azubike, said that the bail application had merit and granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He ordered that the sureties must be responsible Nigerians who must reside within the jurisdiction of the court. He adjourned the case to Dec. 9, to enable the police complete their investigation.

NIGERIA IN ANOTHER SHOW OF SHAME

The smooth conduct of the 17th Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) in Abuja was yesterday disrupted for more than 30 minutes following power outage at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel plant, which sparked a melee as the audience thought a terror attack was under way.

The development forced some dignitaries, including the United States (U.S.) Envoy to Nigeria, Ambassador Terence P. McCulley, to hurriedly flee the hotel despite being scheduled to address the media at the end of the session, which was cut short by the power outage.

President Goodluck Jonathan had declared the summit open with a speech and had left the venue before the power cut. However, the hotel’s Public Relations Manager, Sola Adeyemo, attributed the outage to “a very high voltage” from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) forcing the hotel’s power generator to switch off.

But by the time power was restored some dignitaries, including the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Lamido Sanusi, who were discussants at the interrupted session were gone.

The discussions however resumed after much persuasion of delegates who later gained their composure and used the blackout period to help themselves to snacks and tea served at the fountain arena outside the congress hall.

Satanic Sex Ritual; Two Women Arrested for Sex Stabbing

Milwaukee: Rebecca Chandler, 22, and Raven Larrabee, 20, are held in the Milwaukee County Jail for the Satanic Ritual injuries endured by an 18 year-old man. Chandler stated that the ritual got “out of hand” and led to over 300 stab wounds of the unidentified man. The injured party stated in a search warrant affidavit, that he had been in internet connections with the women and planned to meet them for consensual sex. The man traveled from Phoenix to Milwaukee to meet Chandler, only to be held in her apartment for two days and stabbed more than 300 times.

Chandler offered herself up to the police when they arrived with the warrant. She admitted that the sexual act and ritual got “out of hand.” Chandler referred to Larrabee, her roommate, as Scarlet. Chandler stated that Scarlet did most of the cutting and was possibly “involved in satanic or occult activities.”

The man was transported to a local hospital where medical personnel stated; “he suffered multiple puncture wounds as well as lacerations and slash wounds to his back, face, arms, legs, and neck.” The man was restrained with “bloody duct tape” and a length of rope. The man told police that he traveled to meet Chandler and Larrabee for consensual sex, but had not anticipated the horror that derived from the act. A blood trail led police to the apartment where Chandler was waiting.

Several items were removed from the site including knives, cutting instruments, DNA evidence, duct tape, restraining devices, and books or literature relating to Satanism and the occult. Among the literature were “The Necromantic Ritual Book” and “The Werewolf’s Guide to Life.” “The Necromantic Ritual Book” contains information on “sharing consciousness with the Angel of Death.” Paperwork, seized by the police, contained the “7 Pentacles” of planets.

A black folder containing “Intro to Sigil borne Spirits”, a guide to contacting the dead, was also coveted by the police. While the man stated he traveled to Wisconsin to meet the girls, he did not indicate that he was interested in the occult.

Game Says He Will Be Featured "More Than Once" On Dr. Dre's "Detox"

Chuck Taylor says that if the near-mythical album ever releases, he will be on several tracks. Kendrick Lamar and Snoop Dogg recently said that Dr. Dre’s near-mythical album Detox was in the mixing stage, though a concrete release date is yet to be announced. Game recently spoke with KISS 107.5's Jay Thomas and said that if the album ever does drop, he will be featured on at least two of the tracks.

“If there is a Detox, then Game is on it more than once. But if it never comes out, then nobody’s on it,” he said. As he’s previously done, the Compton, California native remained mum on all other aspects of the album, stating that while it’s been on his mind, he has nothing more to offer about the project.

“Detox man, I don’t know about Detox man. I’ve been thinking about detoxing lately, because I’ve been back on my workout grind and I’ve been thinking about detoxing. That’s the only thing I can tell you about Detox.”

Apple releases iOS 5.0.1 with battery improvements, security fixes

Apple has released iOS 5.0.1, a minor software update designed to fix battery life issues among other things. As we reported earlier, Apple had seeded the fix to some iDevice owners who had been seeing those problems. This is the first update that is available over-the-air (to the general public), for those with iOS 5.0 on their devices. Apple added the ability to update its iOS platform OTA in iOS 5.

Those who had late version of the iOS 5 beta were able to update to the final version OTA. While earlier reports were that iOS 5.0.1 wasn't showing up via OTA, we can confirm it's now available via that method. Naturally, you can also update by cabling your device and using iTunes.

To do an OTA update, click on Settings > General > Software Update. Then click Download and Install to start the upgrade process. If your battery is below 50 percent and you’re not connected to the power source, the update won’t install.

    * iPod touch (3rd generation)

For information on the security content of this update, please visit this website: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5052.
Among the security fixes is one for the vulnerability found by developer Charlie Miller, one that got him booted out of the iOS developer program, after he submitted a proof-of-concept app into the App Store.

B.o.B Reveals New Mixtape "E.P.I.C.," Speaks On Heavy D's Passing

Bobby Ray says he'll precede his sophomore album "Strange Clouds" with a street release. With his sophomore project Strange Clouds due next year, B.o.B plans on feeding the streets with another mixtape. The “Airplanes” rapper recently stopped by WGCI’s Morning Riot, where he revealed that he’s working on a new mixtape called E.P.I.C. (Every Play is Crucial), which will release this month.

“I’m actually finishing up my sophomore project called Strange Clouds,” he said. “I’m working on a mixtape, too, which I’m releasing this month. It’s called E.P.I.C. (Every Play is Crucial).”Bobby Ray also touched on the sudden death of Heavy D. The ATLien said that he grew up listening to the fallen rapper, and that it’s made him realize to live life to the fullest.

“Definitely caught me by surprise, man. Heavy D was one of the artists that I saw on TV when I was a kid coming up, watching BET and all the videos. Just to hear it, it seems like it always happens so sudden. It wasn’t really expected. He was just on the BET Awards. It’s crazy, man. You gotta just always embrace the moment. It’s crucial.”

DMX Recalls Childhood Abuse, Speaks On Disciplining His Children

Dark Man X talked with Dr. Drew about how he chooses to discipline his 10 children. DMX recently paid a visit to Dr. Drew’s “Lifechangers” show, speaking on his struggles with the law and his childhood. During the conversation, he touched on being disciplined as a kid and how it helped shape who he is today. “Back then, everybody got beatings,” he explained. “It made me a better person. Some were a little extreme. It got pretty bad. There were plenty of days I couldn’t sit down in school. There were three extension cords and she would braid them together.”

Dr. Drew asked if he beat any of his 10 children as punishment. Dark Man X said that he disciplines them by giving them something along the lines of a spanking when they get out of line, but that it usually teaches them a lesson.“You don't really have to beat them. That one time... Smack them on the ass with a belt a couple of times and they get the point. It was not continual beating. Anybody you've got to beat over and over again, evidently it's not working. You give them a spanking that one time. After, you explain to them not to do it and you go back and do it again.”

He emphasized the importance of communication with his kids and how it helps better them and their behavior.“That's why I talk to my kids first. I sit them down and explain to them what they did wrong. If I see that they are genuinely remorseful about the situation, then I'll let it go, because it’s about them learning. It’s not about me beating them.”
