SOULMATE TO DROP RAP ARTISTE KEL, AS BRAND AMBASSADOR

There are strong indications that foremost hair cream manufacturers Soulmate industries may dispense with the service of rap artiste Kel as the company begins search for Season three personalities to act as its brand ambassadors for the year 2012.

The decision to drop Kel followed what observers say is her dwindling fortune in the music industry.

“This situation runs contrary to the terms of contract she signed with the hair company that says she must be socially relevant and popular enough to influence the youth and the sales of the hair product.

The same reason that may force the exit of Kel is the reason radio presenter Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi was dropped as brand ambassador at the beginning of Season two last year”.

In her place our continued “the company  signed on vibrant, talented and sexy Artist, Mo’Cheddah as the new Brand Ambassador”.

Mo’Cheddah, who made her debut as a solo artiste in the music industry in 2010 currently enjoys airplay both home and abroad.

Her fame and popularity was what attracted the hair care brand to seek her signature to represent the brand and help create a continuous market dominance

Just hours before TMZ broke the story about Heidi Klum gearing up for divorce, Seal arrived back in L.A. after a quick trip to London -- wearing massive shades, a red scarf, an enormous-collared jacket, and a grim expression.

As TMZ first reported, as of Sunday night ... Heidi and Seal are still living under the same roof.

KELVIN ETUHU TO BECOME POMPEY'S NEW MIDFIELD DYNAMO

Kelvin Etuhu is set to become Pompey’s new midfield dynamo, according to boss Michael Appleton.

The 23-year-old signed a deal for the rest of the season on Thursday, with an option for an extra year.

But after bursting through the youth ranks as a forward or a winger at Manchester City, the Pompey boss has earmarked a central role for his new recruit.

Appleton said, “I think central midfield is Kelvin’s best position but he can play anywhere across the midfield.

“I’ve also see him play up front or at full-back on loan for Cardiff. Hopefully, he can make an impact for us.

“He handles the ball well, he’s a good passer and I genuinely think he will give us an extra goal threat from midfield.

“You only have to watch him in training and see that he scores quite frequently.

“He will also give us a bit of extra edge and bite in the middle of the park.”

It’s a welcome new addition to the Blues ranks, with Etuhu set to replace the banned David Norris, who is out for three games after last week’s red card.

The former Ipswich man has also undergone surgery on a hernia problem which could extend his absence.

Appleton said, “With the suspension, it was an opportunity to get him (Norris) under the knife.”

NIGERIA FOOTBALL FEDERATION TO MEET OVER COURT RULING

The board of the Nigeria Football Federation is expected to hold an emergency meeting on Monday (today) in Abuja following a judgement passed by a Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday. The emergency gathering summoned by the president of the body Aminu Maigari is for the board members to be briefed by their lawyer and determine the next line of action.

The NFF Media Officer Ademola Olajire confirmed the meeting to THE PUNCH on the telephone on Sunday.

He said, “Yes, all the members are in the country and are expected to attend the meeting.”

A former president of the Nigeria Referees Association, Sam Sam Jaja went to court to challenge his disqualification to run in the Nigeria Premier League elections in May, 2010. He sought the court to determine the NFF and NPL’s legality in line with Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution. The Judge declared that neither the NFF nor NPL had any statutory recognition.

The ruling reads in part, “…The names NPL and NFF are illegal before the law, since there is no statute recognising their existence in the country.”

By Friday, the NFF claimed it had not received a copy of the judgement but explained that their lawyer would make a copy available before today’s meeting.

“We have not seen a copy of the judgement apart from the chat we had with our lawyer. He said something about the NFF and NPL not being properly incorporated or registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, but the lawyer himself was yet to get a copy of the judgement. However, the learned Judge did not make any consequential order thereto.

“By the time we get a copy of the judgement on Monday, we will be able to react fully. As for now, the business of running Nigeria football is unaffected, as we have 90 days to appeal any judgement, during which the status quo, legally, remains,” the General Secretary of the NFF, Musa Amadu said.
