UCHE JOMBO SAVES VAN VICKER FROM SSS DETENTION

In what can only be described as a scene from a Nollywood movie, screen diva Uche Jombo recently saved Ghanaian actor Van Vicker from a real-life detention in the hands of the SSS!!
Impeccable sources revealed to Bola Aduwo that Van was in Nigeria a couple of days ago. Apparently he had some prop guns from America which he planned to use in a movie. After passing all security checks, he entered the plane and while on-board, his attention was called to by airport security to identify what he had in his luggage. He identified that they were prop guns, the security  personnel at the airport were not convinced and said they have to get their experts in Ikoyi to check it out! That was how Van was whisked off to the SSS gulag in Ikoyi where he eventually passed the night!

Just before Van was about to enter the SSS Office, he had the presence of mind to contact his wife and a colleague, Uche Jombo who at that time was attending the AMAAs. He BBed his situation to her and described where he was. Unfortunately for him because of the noise at the event and her low battery power, Uche did not see the messages till the following morning! When she did, Uche quickly sprung into action and began to pull strings! Van was later released but without his prop guns

ROSIE O' DONNELL: LINDSAY LOHAN "NEEDS A LOT OF TIME AWAY"

As Lindsay Lohan makes her latest attempt to recover her career, many wonder if she'll be able to pull it off - including Rosie O’Donnell, who publicly slammed the troubled star in an interview.

It was announced on Monday that Miss Lohan has landed the role of Elizabeth Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime biopic, "Liz & Dick", and, a day later, O'Donnell sat down on the "Today" show saying that the network made the completely wrong choice for the role.

”She’s had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including ‘SNL.’ She was out and not in rehearsal. I think she’s not in a place to work,” Rosie opined, telling the other panelists, “I feel sorry for her. I think she needs a lot of time away".

Fellow guest Donny Deutsch then stood up for the 25-year-old actress, saying, “She’s our generation’s Elizabeth Taylor!” To this, O'Donnell shot back, “You’re out of your mind! You’re a crackhead! The last thing she did good she was sixteen.”

The film will focus on Taylor's testy relationship with her cheating husband, Richard Burton, but still Rosie says, “I don’t think she’s right for the role, and I don’t think she’s capable at this point to portray that character.”

Check out the video of Rosie slamming Lindsay on the "Today" show below!

MICHEAL LOHAN- ROSIE O' DONNELL IS A TALENTLESS FAILURE

Rosie O'Donnell is in no position to bash Lindsay Lohan -- at least according to Lindsay's loyal father, who claims Rosie's a washed-up failure at life ... who only stayed famous because she adopted a bunch of kids.

Michael Lohan tells TMZ, "Who the hell is Rosie O'Donnell to judge anyone, especially Lindsay, who has far more talent than Rosie ever had?"

He says, "Lindsay's talent isn't limited to being a comedian or getting notoriety for adopting and raising a bunch of kids. Sure, [Lindsay] has her pitfalls, but she is 25, and how old is Rosie?" (50, in case you're wondering).

Michael adds, "Two failed talk shows, a failed marriage, etc ... He/she who is without sin. May they cast the first stone."

As we previously reported, Rosie went on "Today" this morning, claiming Lindsay hasn't made a single good film since she was sixteen ... and isn't capable of portraying Liz Taylor in her new movie.

EVA LONGORIA CHECKS IN AT BESO

Keeping an eye on her restaurant venture, Eva Longoria was spotted at Beso in Hollywood last night (April 23).

The “Desperate Housewives” hottie was all smiles as she headed inside for a business meeting, sporting a white blouse and pink trousers.

As for her new dating show, Longoria declared that it’s no wonder people are turning to unconventional means to find a mate.

"When you get to a point in your life and you've tried everything and you've exhausted blind dates you kind of go, 'I really want to share this life with somebody.’ That's one thing I think these guys are, they're ready for love and they're at a point in their life where they're ready to share that with someone.”
