50 Cent’s New Campaign: One Facebook Like, One Meal for a Hungry Child

Fifty may seem like a hard a$$, but beneath those jacked pecs lies a heart of pure platinum (you know gold ain’t good enough for the G-Unit). The MC mogul and member of The Forbes Five, a list of the wealthiest hip-hop artists in the game, has launched his own liquid energy empire -- and he’s using the profits to feed hungry kids.

In honor of World Food Day this past Sunday, Curtis James Jackson will donate one meal through the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) for every “like” racked up on the Facebook page for his one-month-old Street King Energy Shot -- and that doesn’t include the grub he’s also promised for every single shot sold.

Right now, Street King’s already pledged 2.5 million meals through sales and the FB campaign is close to 60,000 likes -- with the ultimate do-good goal of one billion hungry tummies filled around the world. Sir Cents has always shown a genuine commitment to giving back – he’s even penned a semi-autobiographical novel about a teen bully’s road to redemption – and ever since his eye-opening trip to poverty-plagued Africa during the World Cup, he’s wanted to do something big to make a difference.

What do you think of Fifty’s new effort to fuel change with his unique brand of in-your-face energy? Over here at Act, we think it sounds – and hopefully, tastes – friggin’ awesome.
