2012 GOLDEN GLOBE WINNERS

For 68 years the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has been handing out the Golden Globe Awards and honouring the best in film, TV, and its practitioners. British comedian Ricky Gervais returns to host the sixty-ninth annual event in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The first award of the night was for the Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Film: Christopher Plummer for his role in “Beginners”. Best Actress in a TV Comedy or Musical: Laura Dern for her role in “Enlightened”

Best Mini Series or Motion Picture Made for TV: “Downton Abbey (Masterpiece)”

Best Actress in a Mini Series or Motion Picture Made for TV: Kate Winslet for her role in “Mildred Pierce”

Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Drama Series: Kelsey Grammer for his role in “Boss”

Best TV Drama Series: “Homeland”

Best Origina Motion Picture Score: “The Artist” by Ludovic Bource

Best Original Motion Picture Song: “Masterpiece” by Madonna, Julie Frost, and Jimmy Harry from “W.E.”

Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini Series or Made for TV Movie: Idris Elba for his role in “Luther”

Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical: Michelle Williams for her role in “My Week with Marilyn”

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Supporting Role: Octavia Spencer for her role in “The Help”

After a standing ovation three time Golden Globe and Cecil B. DeMille Award winner

Sydney Portier and Helen Mirren presented the 2012 Cecil B. DeMille Award to Morgan

Freeman. Portier called Freeman a prince in his profession.
