LL COOL J TO HOST 2012 GRAMMY AWARDS

Seven years with no official host, veteran US rapper, James Todd Smith a.k.a LL Cool J is set to anchor the 54th annual Grammy Awards, which will air on February 12, 2012.

LL Cool J, who is a two-time Grammy winner himself, says he is thrilled to be ‘part of music’s biggest night’ and describes his hosting of the show as a ‘dream come true’.

The 44-year-old has hosted ‘The Grammy Nominations Concert Live’ since its inception in 2008 and this will be his first time hosting the Grammy Awards telecast. Previous hosts of the Grammys are TV host Jon Stewart (2001) and rapper-actor Queen Latifah (2005).

Some of the artists slated to perform are; Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and Jason Aldean.

Top nominees are Adele and Kanye West. Nigerian Afrobeat maestro Femi Kuti is also nominated for the third time in the ‘World Music Category’.
