US weekly news magazine TIME has named Nigerian President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan its ’100 Most Influential People in the World’ list for the year 2012.
Jonathan who popped up on the prestigious list which was released today, Wednesday, April 18, 2012 on the magazine’s official website falls a spot behind US President Barrack Obama.
US professional basketball player with the New York Knicks, Jeremy Lin who had a tremendous season ranks number one on the list. Others who make the top ten are US football quarterback for the New York Jets, Tim Tebow, pop star Rihanna and African-American Academy Award nominee Viola Davis.

Maradona celebrated his 51 birthday in Dubai
The Argentine soccer star Diego Armando Maradona celebrated his 51 birthday yesterday in Dubai, where the team trains Al Wasl. As reported by Abu Dhabi TV, Maradona said Lionel Messi, of Barcelona, is the best player of the moment and still has much to offer. For himself, said he did the best he could as a player and is now interested in evolving as a coach.
In May, Maradona signed a two-year contract to coach Al Wasl, who chairs the Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid al Maktoum, the brother of the emir of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Maradona took the opportunity to call the football fans of the UAE, especially the fans of Al Wasal, to show their support for their teams games. According to Argentine media, the daughter of former footballer, Dalma and Giannina, traveled Dubai by surprise with the little Benjamin, son of the latter with the Manchester City player Sergio "Kun" Aguero.
