SAIDI BALOGUN,MERCY AIGBE,BIMBO OSHIN & OTHERS ON TOUR IN US

Yoruba movie actors and actresses as you read this are on tour of the United States of America.

They left the shores of the country penultimate week.

The movies stars are currently on tour and poised to thrill their international fans with scintillating stage performances at President Obama’s country.

Mercy Aigbe will also begin shooting of her new movie in the states alongside her other actors and actresses who will also feature in the blockbuster project.

Their trip to the US especially for Sanyeri(Adeniyi Afonja),Eniola Badmus popularly called Gbogbo Big Girls,Bimbo Oshin,Kunle Adegbite,Murphy Afolabi is expected to give fillip to their ratings and careers as Yoruba movie stars.

Before she recovers from one scandal or controversy, she is neck deep into another.

Star actress Fathia Balogun seems not to be bothered by her name being the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The latest gist about her is that, she is currently in a sizzling romance with Goriola Hassan, ex-husband of fellow actress, Ayo Adesanya.

Tongues began to wag a few weeks ago when both of them stormed a show in Lagos GRA.It was on Wednesday,28th December,2011.

The event was the end-of-year show of lewd popular singer,St. Janet at Asake Afrocentric Pub,situated at 21,Joel Ogunaike Street, Ikeja GRA
,Lagos.

Though the duo did not enter the exclusive hangout for big boys and babes together,Goriola drove his Honda Element car to the venue while Fathia strolled in less than 5 minutes later.Those who saw them at the event noticed how the 2 were into each other.

The lovebirds sat closely throughout the show and they left together.As if that was not enough,the duo were also cynosure of all eyes at the recent birthday party of star actress Mercy Aigbe on Sunday, 1st January, 2012 at La Veronique Hotel, Oregunwa Street, Oregun, Ikeja,Lagos.

The duo who initially sat at the VIP section of the hall where London-based juju singer,Sunny Melody was performing obviously had a wonderful time while the show lasted.This put a peg to insinuations that the duo were romantically linked.

Fathia drove Goriola’s Honda Element car to the event with the number plate ‘FB’ an acronym for Fathia Balogun which she used on her Nissan Jeep that no one can explain why she refused to ride in it for about a year.

The duo have been reportedly sighted hugging, kissing and cuddling.

For the records, Fathia’s marriage to Saheed Balogun broke up about 3 years ago and since then she has been romantically linked with several Yoruba movie actors and a prominent marketer.

Goriola’s marriage to Ayo Adesanya packed up more than 2 years ago and since then he has not been linked with any actress or known babe.

AREMU AFOLAYAN LAUNCHES MOVIE IN LAGOS

It was a glorious day for star actor,Aremu Afolayan, on 18th December, 2011,at the Anchor Event Place,Registration close,beside Federal Inland Revenue Office, Agidingbi, Ikeja, where he launched his new movie titled “The Score”.

Although, the event started very far behind schedule but that took nothing away from the excitement the action-packed gangster movie was premiered at the venue for guests before launching proper began.

The movie shot with high definition cameras and well edited with each scene displaying quality pictures and booming clear sounds,saw the actors in the movie speaking in both American gangsters English language and a bit of Yoruba to compliment it.And actors like Gabriel Afolayan, Saheed Balogun, Shaffi, Leye Kuti, Kola Olatubosun and Deji Subomi Balogun to mention a few gave their best in terms of role interpretation in the movie where a lot of shooting was involved just like the American gangsters movies.

Female stand-up comedian,Princess,was the anchor of the event and she discharged her responsibility with the exceptional sense of humour that she is known for.And at the end of the day,some of the guests that launched the movie generously included Mr. Kunle Karena, Mr. Dolapo Badru, Mr. Wale of Bite Magazine, Otunba Ayo, Mr. & Mrs. Fasesin and few others.

There were musical performances during the course of the launching by Gabriel Afolayan who said he had just gone into music,Jaff Extra, Flow Sim and Pappy J.

The presence of Sikiratu Sindodo generated some excitement at the event as it was one of the major outings she would be making after recovering from a long time illness.

Guests were feted to finger foods and choice drinks.

STAR ACTRESS FUNKE ADESIYAN, SATI RAHMAN IN QUITE ROMANCE

The latest gist swirling around the movie industry is that of Star actress Funke Adesiyan.

We gathered that the sultry actress is in a fresh romance with Sati Rahman. Though it is not clear when it started- the guarded romance is said to have been on for a while.

Our reliable source who sighted them at a social function told us,they stepped out to the event together. It was at Olanihun mother’s burial at Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan,Oyo State, penultimate Thursday” hinted our source.

However,we leant that Funke who initially sat beside Sati Rahmon,was seen mounting the stage to ‘spray’ the musician of the day, K-1 de Ultimate, mint naira notes,allegedly given to her by her alleged new lover.

Funke Adesiyan’s popularity soared following her reported romance with Saheed balogun, a popular actor whose marriage to Faithia Balogun, also a beautiful Nollywood actress, crashed irretrievably

The winners of the 2011 Afrohollywood Awards announced at a well attended ceremony held at the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding, Governor’s Office, Osogbo, Osun State, southwest Nigeria with the Governor of the State Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, members of the State House of Assembly, the state Commissioner For Culture And Tourism and Mr. Sikiru Adetona Ayedun, among others in attendance.

Saidi Balogun emerged the African Actor Of  The Year (African film category). He defeated Majid Michael (Ghana) and Parsley Chireneyegae of South Africa. Femi Brainard emerges the Best Actor (English Language film) while Susan Peters won the Best Actress (English language film) award.

In other categories, Halima Abubakar won Best Actress (supporting role in English language film), Muyiwa Adegoke, Best Actor (Yoruba language film) ,Doris Simeon, Best Actress (Yoruba Language film) ,Tayo Adeleye, Best Actor (Supporting Role in Yoruba Language Film), Anta Laniyan, Best Director; Bukola Awoyemi, Best New Acting talent and Tolulope Olusola Lamidi (TV Continental) Entertainment Journalist (Broadcast).

Others are Bernard Babatunde Tayo a.k.a Baba Tee, the New Comedy Talent; Sam Loco-Efe, Post Humous category and Chief Yemi Elebuibon, Special Contributions to the development of art and culture among others.
