Man Dies In Home Overrrun By More Than 60,000 Bees

Like a horror movie come to life, a man was found dead on Sunday in his Miami, Florida home overrun by thousands of bees living in the walls. The bizarre scene unfolded when his teenage daughter found her father Donald Mason, dead on the floor of an unstairs bedroom. The report didn't say how the girl managed to get pass the bees. Maybe they had retreated back into the walls.

According to the Miami Herald, the 49-year-old electrician was repairing his home when he found what he though was a bee hive in the walls of one room. When he reportedly tried to get rid of the problem, a swarm of bees attacked him causing him to fall to his death from the ladder he was perched on.

There were so many bees, exterminations had to fumigate the home before authorities could remove the body. Reports say that when the police arrived at the scene, they heard a loud humming sound like the house was alive. Over 60,000 bees were reportedly found living in the walls throughout the entire home.

Mason's family said he loved the old house they grew up in which was built by their great-grandfather and was trying to keep it from falling to disrepair when the freak accident happened. The house which was in the family for generations, was located on 129 NW on 15th Ave.

An autopsy will determine the official cause of death but the knock to his head when he fell is reportedly the most likely culprit.
