ARE JASON DERULO & JORDIN SPARKS ENGAGED? WE UNDERSTAND YOUR CONFUSION

So, Jason Derulo (yes, I’m singing his name in my head, too) and Jordin Sparks have been together for almost three years now. While Derulo only technically confirmed that he and Sparks were dating in January of 2012, the couple were quite obviously together before that as he cited Sparks as helping him get through his awful neck injury that he was thankfully able to overcome. So, three years in Hollywood terms? A downright eternity. And, to top off their longevity, the two have gone through their relationship practically unscathed by tabloid gossip and accusations. Well, if you don’t count those pesky little engagement rumors. But, are they just rumors or are Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks actually engaged?

In the celebrity world, being asked if you’re going to marry your longtime significant other is hardly the worst thing in the world. There’s so many other speculations that usually make the rounds first — feuding, pregnancies, drug use, bad tipping — but that doesn’t mean that the marriage inquiry is any less daunting, especially when your response is recorded for the entire world to see. In fact, it might be the most nerve-wracking question to be asked when you do actually intend on marrying the person in question… just not at this very moment. Which, for poor unsuspecting Derulo, is just the case.

He spoke of the conundrum with MTV News back in April and said he understands that his song, “Marry Me,” wasn’t helping the issue. He explained,


There is a lot of pressure, and there was a lot of pressure before the song. I wrote the song because of the pressure and then I made the pressure worse because people just listen to the chorus and all they hear is ‘Will you marry me?’ so they’re like ‘Oh you’re proposing’ I’m like ‘No.’ In the song I’m saying when the time is right, I’m saying we have the rest of our lives. So the perfect time is on its way.

So, Derulo and Sparks aren’t engaged for the moment and I totally get Derulo’s reasoning. It’s a nice change of pace for a celebrity to not want to rush into a marriage just to get divorced 72 days later, but then again, who’s counting? Derulo and Sparks seem like they have this whole relationship thing down pat and when the time is right, one of them will pop the question. After all, if someone wrote that song for me I don’t think I’d be too worried about where the relationship was going.

JASON DERULO CONFIRMS RELATIONSHIP WITH JORDIN SPARKS

After months of romantic scenes, R&B star, Jason Derulo finally confirms the status of his relationship with the American Idol season six winner Jordin Sparks.

‘We are together’, the MTV Awards nominee says.

‘She lives in Phoenix, comes (from Miami) and takes care of me, brings me breakfast in bed and she’ll go on walks with me. We’ve gotten closer because of my accident. It’s awesome to have someone you can talk to and she’s a wonderful person’, he revealed.

Jason was preparing to kick off for his Future World tour to begin on Thursday, February 23, 2012, when he fractured his neck during rehearsals.

‘My fans mean everything to me so I’m praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future’ he added.

NECK INJURY FORCES JASON DERULO TO CANCEL FEBRUARY TOUR

US singer Jason Derulo has cancelled his upcoming tour, after fracturing his neck in an acrobatic move during rehearsals.

Derulo, 22, was trying to pull off the move but missed, landing and falling on his neck, causing an ‘acute fracture of his vertebra’. He was immediately rushed to the Memorial West Hospital in Pembroke Pines, Florida, where it was revealed that he just narrowly missed being paralyzed in the incident.

The singer told fans about the accident on Twitter, posting a picture of him in a neck brace and hospital gown stating that, ‘I fractured my neck doing tumbling & acrobatics 4 tour! Always tryin 2 push boundaries 4 YOU! Like my new chain?  ’, @jasonderulo tweeted.

The singer’s label, Beluga Heights, on his behalf issued a statement about the incident, which read, ‘To all my fans who planned to come to the ‘Future History’ world tour, the pain of letting you down cuts me way deeper than this injury I’ve sustained. My fans mean everything to me, so I’m praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future.’

The tour, named after his second album ‘Future History’, which dropped in September, was slated to kick off in Glasgow on February 23.

BLACK EYED PEAS TO TAKE INDEFINITE HIATUS POST-MIAMI, FLORIDA SHOW

The gang will split apart to focus on their respective ventures. After tonight’s performance in Miami, Florida, Black Eyed Peas will begin its indefinite hiatus from recording and releasing new music.

According to frontman will.i.am, the hiatus is more of a “break” and that they will spend their time off focusing on other ventures. “We always have two cycles of records and then we take a break," said will, who is gearing up for the release of a solo album. "And then two cycles of records and then a break. When we take breaks you know, we work on side projects and get our personal stuff in order then come back and make beautiful music. We think beautiful music."

Taboo plans to spend time with his family, while apl.de.ap will focus on being an ambassador for education in the Philippines. Fergie is looking to start a family.

Yeah, that's one of the things that we want to do," she said. "I've just been touring since 2003 and like anything things get monotonous and your doing the same thing every night. I'd like to go days without wearing make-up and watching my football games. Doing my footwear collection and my fragrances...Just going where the day takes me."

Tonight’s show is set to feature cameos from Cee Lo Green, Flo Rida, Marc Anthony, Sean Kingston and Jason Derulo.
