MARIAH CAREY'S NO LONGER MANAGED BY JERMAINE DUPRI BUT DON'T GIVE UP ON HER YET

Fortunately Mariah Carey can count Donatella Versace among the people who loved her latest elusive musical offering, but the disappointing sales for Me. I am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse apparently prompted the singer to revisit the good ol’ days of Mimi’s emancipation because, as Billboard reported, Mariah Carey has split with her manager Jermaine Dupri. Based on Dupri’s statements, he attributes the separation to “not being allowed to do what I know.” Hmmm…sounds like he thinks Mimi’s a micro-manager.

Despite Carey’s constant manager-swapping over the last several years, this still may be unsettling news for her beloved flock of lambs. However, there remains good reason to keep the faith in a Mariah Carey career revival. For example, after two back-to-back commercially unsuccessful albums in Glitter and Charmbracelet, plenty of doubters prepared to put Carey out to pasture—that is, until she released The Emancipation of Mimi. In true diva fashion, Carey quieted the naysayers when the album opened at #1 on the Billboard charts and earned her the best opening sales week of her career.

As for the present, who knows what went wrong with The Elusive Chanteuse? For the most part, I found it to be a pretty solid album with a few exceptions. Perhaps she cursed herself by announcing it as a surprise album. (Like, how does that even work?) Maybe her other non-musical endeavors took away from her focus. Don’t even get me started on her mystery melodic beverage.

Part of me thinks that for now, Carey should pull back a little from being all front stage and center and focus on other aspects of her career. She could pick up where she left off when she founded Crave Records back in the late ’90s. But then again, the comments she made about Ariana Grande don’t exactly portray her as the type to help anyone along in their musical career, at least not at the moment. I certainly don’t have all the answers for Carey executing another musical comeback, but I’m willing to hang in there see if yet another manager can put her back on top.

MARIAH CAREY ROCKS THE ISCHGL SKI RESORT

She’s always up for a good time, and earlier today (April 30) Mariah Carey was spotted onstage at the Ischgl Ski Resort in the Austrian Tirol for the legendary Season Closing Concert. The “Always Be My Baby” songstress got all bundled up for the gig, singing through her hit-laden catalog in the chilly conditions.

According to a report, Carey got started about a half hour late, but nobody seemed to mind once her 90-minute set got underway.Prior to the show, Mariah was spotted at a pre-concert shindig held at the Trofana Royal Hotel in downtown Ischgl.

Over the weekend, Ms. Carey and her handsome hubby Nick Cannon renewed their wedding vows at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.

NICK CANNON QUITS RADIO JOB TO FOCUS ON HEALTH

Actor Nick Cannon has quit his job at the New York City radio 92.3 NOW in an effort to treat himself; the 31-year-old announced in a statement released on the radio’s website on Friday, February 17, 2012.

Cannon has been the host of the weekly Friday show ‘Rollin’’ for two years running. Last Wednesday he announced that he was hospitalized over the weekend for two blood clots found in his lungs

‘Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule’, Cannon said.

In January, Cannon, husband to R&B singer Mariah Carey was admitted into the hospital after suffering from what his wife, called ‘mild kidney failure’. He was later discharged and resumed work on January 17.

The couple welcomed a twin set of babies – Son, Moroccan and daughter, Monroe in April 2011.

X-FACTOR U.S SEASON II: PAULA ABDUL, NICOLE SCHERZINGER OUT, L.A REID STAYS

 

The iconic music producer, L.A Reid is the last judge standing in the hit talent show ‘X-Factor’ U.S, after the ousting of judges, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and host, Steve Jones. From reports gathered, the label mogul signed a deal on Sunday, February 5, 2012 to return to the show.

There are also speculations that the show’s creator, Simon Cowell is setting his eyes on songstress Kelly Rowland alongside R&B singer Mariah Carey for the next season. It is also rumoured that the producer made an offer to get star singer Beyonce on the show.

The second season is due to kick off in the later part of the year 2012.

BEYONCE OFFERED HALF A BILLION DOLLARS FOR 'X FACTOR' CONTRACT

BEYONCE could finally become the highest paid entertainer and the girl who runs the world, that is if the rumors of a $US500 million ($467 million) X-Factor paycheck are true.

Simon Cowell supposedly called the singing superstar on her Video Phone and offered her $100 million a year, for a five year contract with X-Factor USA., Mediatakeout.com reported.

The news comes from an “extremely reliable source” the very same source who reported Jennifer Lopezwas joining American Idol in 2010, the website claimed.

Cowell wants a big name female star on the panel, the source told Mediatakeout.com. Mariah Carey is all right, but she's not that spicy today. He wants Beyonce because that would immediately give him the leap needed to beat American Idol.

The report was released just days after Cowell announced the removal of former judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, who are reportedly "laced with hurt and disbelief" at being dumped.

Anxious to revive the franchise, Cowell believes Beyonce is the magic button.

Beyonce Knowles would be the highest paid female entertainer in the world, if this is true, and push her and husband, Jay-Z’s combined revenue to well over $1 billion.

Knowles and Cowell didn’t made any comment regarding this rumors but MediaTakeOut.com said to wait for a “major” career statement from the singer in the next month.

Knowles is not a stranger to the X-Factor franchise. In 2008 she played a role as a mentor and performed a duet with the winner.

NICK CANNON RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL

Nick Cannon is recovering at home after suffering from Kidney Failure during a trip to Aspen last week. According to his rep,

" Nick Cannon was released over the weekend to be with his family. He is resting and recovering at home and would like to thank everyone who has expressed concern, well wishes and prayers.

    He plans to return to his live morning radio show broadcast ‘Rollin’ with Nick Cannon’ on 92.3 NOW FM on January 17.

Mariah Carey has done a few weird things in her time so I guess this latest might just be the norm for the R&B Nightinggale.

According to the DailyMail, husband Nick Cannon, was reportedly rushed to hospital for kidney failure early Wednesday morning in Aspen. Judging by the tweeted pic of poor Nick in his hospital bed with Mariah snuggled up smiling by his side, his wife is not taking this very hard.

Kidney failure is always considered extremely serious but Mariah tweets say they are trying to "remain upbeat" about the prognosis. She did manage to make it about her when she said it was only last year when she was in that predicament--laying-up in a hospital bed having her twins. It is not quite the same thing but leave it to the diva to turn the spotlight on her just a wee bit.

Nick on the other hand looks miserable as any hospital patient should be. Maybe Meme is an eternal optimist so her projected smily photo-op may just be her will shining through.

Mariah Carey might be keeping her twins under wraps for now, but the same can't be said of Carey herself. She recently spent a couple hours promoting her wares on HSN, and most recently the singer tweeted out this photo of herself, squeezing in an ocean workout.

"Ocean work out! It's been a loooong time since I've been in the ocean," Carey wrote with the pic.

The singer gave birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe on April 30.
