2FACE OPENS UP ON HIS RATHER COMPLICATED LOVE LIFE + POCKET OVER A MILLION DOLLAR FOR HIS ENDORSEMENT DEAL WITH AIRTEL

Celebrated African pop singer 2face Idibia is arguably one of the most popular artistes on the African music scene. 2baba came into African limelight when he released his hit song, African Queen and ever since then, he has been a sought after musician.

Tuface is unmarried with 5 children from different women, ranging from Sunmbo Ajaba (two boys) to Pero Adeniyi (a boy and a girl) and Annie Macaulay (a girl).

In a recent interview with EE, 2face opened up on his rather complicated love life.

"I didn't get this from my father. My father is not a womaniser. That I know. I have never caught my father with another woman. He is very faithful to my mother. I am also not a womanizer. Yes it happens that I have more women in my life. It is the price I have to pay for being a star. I didn't plan to have more than one woman in my life. I didn't plan my life to be the way it is now but no regrets. I love my kids. Right now, I have three women in my life who have five kids for me (and expecting a 6th one) and I sincerely don't know how I'm able to cope with three women. Fela had over two dozen wives but I'm not Fela. I can never be another Fela. I have three women but I'm saying a big NO to Fela's kind of polygamy. I don't even know what these women see me (Oh yeah, Tuface? lol). I used to look into the mirror sometimes and wonder it is that they see in me."

In a related news,we gathered that the talented musician was paid over a million dollar for his endorsement deal with Airtel, one of the three top communications companies in Nigeria.

2FACE's MANAGER ROBBED AT GUN POINT

Efe Omorogbe, Now Muzik boss and manager to African pop act 2face Idibia was recently robbed of his car – a BMW X3 SUV (Grey BMW X3. Reg number: KR 526 EKY. Engine no: WBXPA73464WC36602

Chasis no: (same as engine number) and other valuables by gunmen on Monday night, December 5, 2011.

Omorogbe, a veteran writer and talent manager says he was driving back home along Ota road, when a vehicle overtook his and in a sudden twist another vehicle parked very close beside him and then, about eight men alighted from both vehicles and commanded him to come out  from his car.

‘I immediately came out of my car and was asked to get into the back seat. Four men got in with me’, Omorogbe told Nigerian Entertainment Today in a telephone conversation.

He was then commanded to stay face down so as not to see where they (the robbers) were driving to. ‘They asked me to tell them where the security key in the car was but I told them there wasn’t one. They didn’t believe me at first and hit me several times. They even threatened to kill me if the car stopped abruptly’, Omorogbe narrated.

After driving for about 20 minutes, they finally let him out not before stripping him of his shirt, trousers, wristwatch, wedding ring and shoes and then asked him to run into the bushes.

He came out several minutes later and saw a thousand Naira on the floor (Efe strongly suggests the robbers must have dropped it for him), walked to a nearby residence where he met someone who gave him clothes to wear and drove him to the police station near Ota Farms.

‘My wife drove down there and picked me up. They stole everything; my laptop, iPad, wallet, reading glasses, internet modem’, says Omorogbe .

‘I’m happy I’m alive’, Omorogbe says about the incidence. And when asked if it had been a deliberate robbery attempt on him, he responded by saying ‘No, I don’t think so, it could have been anybody’.

2FACE RESCUES INJURED POLICEMAN

2face Idibia is in the news again but this time around he isn’t receiving any awards or featuring on international talk shows or headlining any event. The singer who is credited to singing one of the biggest songs to come out of Africa ‘African Queen’ recently played the role of a ‘Good Samaritan’ as he reportedly saved the life of a Police Officer who had been shot.

The story goes that 2face and a close friend, event manager Matthew Ohio at about 3AM left the Nu-Grotto located at 217 Etim Inyang Crescent, Victoria Island and were heading to the Southern Sun Hotel in Ikoyi, driving in the singer’s Ranger Rover Sport through Muri Okunola Street when they came across a man lying down by the roadside.

Ohio who was driving says the pair decided to stop and find out what was wrong with the man. Upon getting closer, they discovered it was a police man and that he had been shot three times by – once in the hand, in the stomach and in the leg. ‘He kept saying we should help him, he looked like he was in a lot of pain’, Ohio who is executive producer of Industry Nite, the weekly event held at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos told Nigerian Entertainment Today in a telephone conversation.

It is believed that the policeman who identified himself as Corporal Ganiu had been shot just five minutes before Idibia and Ohio drove by. Ohio tells us that they had been alerted by security guards at Nu-Grotto but they ignored the warnings.

2face and Matthew then carried the bleeding policeman into the back seat of their vehicle and rushed him to the Reddington Hospital located at 12 Idowu Martins Street, Victoria Island (next to Mega Plaza) to receive treatment. The hospital staff were said to have been hesitant to attend to the victim until they recognized 2face who served as a guarantor to the officer. It can be recalled that 2face had also been rushed to the same hospital back in October 2007 when he was shot by robbers. ‘I have a card here too o’, 2face was said to have told the hospital staff.

‘The story is quite true’, says Don T, exec at 2face’s management Now Muzik. ‘2face took him to Reddington which is his official hospital’. However, Don T could not confirm as at the time of this report if 2face settled the medical bills even though ‘it’s quite possible he did’.

We’re told Corporal Ganiu has been transferred to the Military Hospital, Awolowo Rd, Ikoyi to receive further treatment and his health condition is said to be stable.

2face is sure not new to robbery attacks and hospitals as he has also had his fair share of horrific episodes. On January 12, 2005, he was attacked by unsuspected robbers at his residence in Festac Town, Lagos and in October 2007, he was also robbed and shot while returning home from the Muritala Mohammed International airport after attending the MOBO awards in London, where he was named best African act.

Exclusive: Full Story Of Timi Dakolo’s Love Child

Singer Timi Dakolo is the proud father of a beautiful baby boy, Nigerian Entertainment Today‘s investigations have revealed. The kid, named Alex Dakolo and born over a year ago, is the product of a pre-marital relationship between Timi and an ex-Zenith bank staff simply identified as Busola.

The singer has, curiously, denied several media reports about the existence of his love child. But those close to him assure us he’s Alex’s father and that his repeated denials only mean one thing : he’s desperate to keep his private life private. ‘He’s proud of his boy and his mother‘ one long time friend tells NET. ‘But he doesn’t want any drama. Plus he’s nervous about what the reaction of the Christian community would be; seeing he had the child out of wedlock‘.

If the christian community and indeed his religious mentors are upset with him; Mr Dakolo is now working to right his wrongs and do what’s right. We’re told he’s recently bought Busola – the mother of his child, an engagement ring from Dubai, and that the live-in-lovers are now warming to get married.

Timi and Busola we’re told, now live in Victoria Island in Lagos. Before moving in together, Timi lived in Oniru Estate in Lekki, while his lover lived in an apartment he rented for her in Sangotedo, in Ajah, a Lagos outskirt. She has also for some time now, been using Timi’s blue Kia Picanto which he won after coming first at West African Idol in 2007. ‘That’s the girl he wants to marry and make a family with‘ a very close Dakolo friend told us last week. Timi Dakolo, whom friends described as ‘romantic’ and ‘loverboy’ had before now dated Ojia Adamolekun (who’s now believed to be involved with 2face Idibia).

Dakolo, who recently released his long awaited debut album ‘Beautiful Noise‘ to huge critical acclaim, has not said anything about marriage plans. And his minders at Now Muzik say they’re unaware of any love child.

Tuface Idibia Hooked In Recording Contract Mess

Not minding his globetrotting these days, for both music business and personal enjoyment this may not be the best of time for Benue State born, pop star, Tuface Uja Idibia as he is currently battling alleged breach of contract of which he is being accused by a Lagos based music marketer, Muritala Alade Bamgbola, the CEO Happy Boys Entertainment of duping him millions of naira in pretence of recording an album for him 3 years ago.

Tuface's palava according to the marketer started like a gentle man's agreement when the two agreed to work together for the distribution of Tuface's Unstoppable album. According to Bamgbola's counsel, James Ononiwu of White Dove Solicitors, his Muritala client would like to use this opportunity to set the records straight as there are several issues to be trashed out before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Lagos.

Ononiwu also said that this became necessary when his client stumbled on articles Tuface's new manager wrote on the internet concerning the artiste's contract. To buttress his point, the lawyer showed the MOU his client had with Tuface's company Hypertek. “My client gave tuface #25 million naira cash with a post dated cheque of #5 million naira on June 12,2008 to obtain the marketing rights of the album, Unstoppable, and as sole distributor in Nigeria and West Africa. It was to be a two years contract.

His manager, Nazzy was with him then. My client gave Tuface and Hypertek that much because Tuface claimed to have done a collabo with American musician, R.Kelly but R.Kelly was in the country twice and Tuface was nowhere to be found. When you call Tuface, he would tell you that he is in the United States with R.Kelly but in an interview with JAJ on Silverbird TV, R.Kelly said he had never met Tuface except when they did the Airtel promo.

The current manager of Tuface was not present at the time the money was given to Tuface and Hypertek. When D'Banj said he sang with Snoop Doggy Dog, we all saw it. So, why are we not seeing or hearing the collabo Tuface did with R.Kelly According to the Lagos lawyer added; Tuface sold to us an album with 16 songs in 2008,but half way in 2009,he released another one, Unstoppable International with the same songs. He has the listening party of Unstoppable International on May29; 2010. No artiste has been paid that much in Nigeria. I hold Tuface in high esteem but this attitude is unbecoming of a musician of his status. My client has really suffered so, we are asking for #150 million for breach of contract.
