Fresh off of the grand announcement that she and Brad Pitt have gotten engaged, Angelina Jolie was selected to adorn the cover of the June 2012 issue of Marie Claire UK.
The 36-year-old superstar brought her beauty to the magazine's pages thanks to the Alexei Hay shot spread with the accompanying column finding her open up about topics including her actor fiance and her mother's influence.
Highlights from Miss Jolie's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Marie Claire UK!
On her transition into the movie business, she explains:
"I woke up one day realising, 'God, I'm an actor'. I don't think I intended to be an actor. I think my mother wanted it for me. I loved telling stories, and I enjoyed the profession, but is it too late to be something else?"
On the subject of Brad Pitt:
"[Brad] has expanded my life in ways I never imagined. We built a family. He is not just the love of my life, he is my family. I hold that very dear."
On what she's learned from her Oscar-nominated fiance:
"I suppose what I've learned from Brad is to be able to have the kind of family whose happiness and well-being comes before your own. I'm very, very grateful to have such a loving family, and
I wouldn't have that without him."
On her mother being an influence on how she handles issues with her children:
"My mom couldn't yell, and she couldn't swear. But she would cry. If I was out all night and didn't call, I could see in her face that she didn't sleep all night. And that she loved me."

I DIDN'T PAY ANY ATTENTION TO 'JOLIEING' - ANGELINA JOLIE
Even though her Oscar night pose spawned its own photo trend and even its own Twitter handle ... Angelina Jolie says she didn't pay any mind to the craze known as "Jolieing."
The woman with the most famous right leg in Hollywood tells the Huffington Post she ignored all the press following her red carpet appearance.
She told HuffPo, "I honestly didn't pay attention to it. You know what I mean? I don't watch those TV shows and if I go online and see something about myself, I don't click on it. And the people I surround myself with don't really talk about that kind of stuff ... I heard something, but I didn't pay any attention."
First we're supposed to believe she just struck the pose naturally (we're sticking with our theory that she did it on a bet -- someone told her they'd donate money to a children's charity if she stuck her leg out) ... and now we're supposed to believe she didn't relish the attention?
More people bought tickets to "The Tourist" than believed her story.

ANGELINA JOLIE 'SAVED' BY KIDS
Angelina Jolie's children have helped her rediscover a "carefree" life.
The "In The Land Of Blood And Honey" director -- who raises Maddox, 10, Pax, eight, Zahara, seven, Shiloh, five, and twins Knox and Vivienne, three, with her partner Brad Pitt -- admitted she went through a "self-destructive" phase but her kids saved her.
She said: "I had grown up as a pretty scary teenager who was self destructive and didn't have a good outlook on life. Acting gave me a better place to be but early in my career I didn't appreciate what the world offered me.
"I had a pretty warped perception of the world. I grew up as this very carefree, happy kid then things turned darker for me. Maybe it was because I saw the world wasn't as happy a place as I had hoped it would be for me.
"I'm just glad I was able to return to some of that innocence and beauty I had as a child when I started my own family and my children brought me back some of that spirit."
Angelina also revealed she was surprised by how motherhood changed her from a loner to someone who loves being surrounded by people.
She added in an interview with The Sun newspaper: "When you have a big family you just give up your personal life at a certain point.
"You even try to take a bath and everybody comes in so you give up and that's OK. As somebody who likes to be alone, I surprise myself that I'm very happy to be surrounded by everybody in my family. I feel that comfort."

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama might be powerful and well-known, but the White House got some Hollywood star power Wednesday: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stopped by for a chat with the chief executive.
The actors were spotted in the Oval Office by photographers waiting outside for the president to take off for a trip to Chicago. The White House confirmed Pitt and Jolie were in town to screen Jolie's movie about Bosnian war crimes at the Holocaust museum. They dropped by so the president could talk with Jolie about her work on preventing mass atrocities and combating sexual violence against women.
Pitt was seen sporting a cane, which he's been using following a skiing injury. It's not the first time Obama's met with one of the pair. In 2009 the president met with Pitt to discuss his working rebuilding New Orleans' Ninth Ward after Hurricane Katrina.Jolie also met with CIA Director David Petraeus at the agency's headquarters. Jolie wanted Petraeus' perspective on cultural trends in Afghanistan for her work with Afghan refugees, an official close to the former U.S. commander in Afghanistan said, speaking anonymously to discuss the private meeting. They had a similar meeting in Baghdad in 2008.

ANGELINA JOLIE: "I'M GLAD NOT TO HAVE DIED YOUNG
Angelina Jolie looks back and thanks for continuing to fight to see everything today a big happy family, humanitarian projects, excellent career and the love of her life, BradBrad Pitt at her side.
Angelina's life was not always as happy as it is now. There was a time when the actress was more feisty than 'Tomb Raider' and therefore relieved to think that "could have died young", and instead did not.
And that was before going to visit refugees in Congo or go buy toys with Shiloh, Angelina had to fight with a sea of darkness "I've been through hard times and dark and I survived."
"I'm very lucky, there are other artists who have not been able to overcome certain things," Angelina said in an interview with 60 Minutes. Although the star has not done much emphasis as it relates to her past addiction to heroin.
In memory of that bad time, Angelina has a boat neck with blood from her ex Billy Bob Thornton "People can imagine that I have done the most dangerous, should not be here, I've done everything I did the worst, I had many opportunities but I should not get into all that, I went too far. "
Although it is proud of its past, the actress has acknowledged that part of herself still alive within him "I am still a bad girl, I still have that part of me but I do it in a place that belongs to Brad (Pitt ) and our adventures. "
Despite those words, Angelina is completely renovated and now she and Brad Pitt make up a family in which the most important are her children Maddox, ten years, Pax, eight, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five and twins Vivienne and Knox, three years

Angelina Jolie to Scale Back Film Career?
Even Angelina Jolie can't do it all. Between acting, directing, raising six kids and saving the world, she's got a lot on her plate. As she gets older, the 36-year-old knows something has to give. What she's likely to give up first is an easy call.
The Oscar winner, whose directorial debut is in post-production, and who will be starring in a remake of the Elizabeth Taylor film Cleopatra, said:
"As Brad and I get older we're going to do fewer films. I've been working a long time; he's been working a long time. We've had a nice run and don't want to be doing this indefinitely, our whole lives. There are a lot of other things to do."
"You're drawn to certain roles because they question something about life, about love, about freedom. You ask these questions as you grow up: am I strong enough, am I sane enough? Do I understand love, do I understand myself?
