Controversial pop star and Grammy award winning artist Lady GagaLady Gaga was on board a private plane when she arrived last night at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport for a two-night concert at SM Arena in Pasay City on May 21 and 22 as part of her “Born This Way Ball” tour, amidst calls by several religious groups to ban her performance because they believed she was making a ‘mockery of Christianity,’ ABS-CBN News said.
Former Manila congressman and Pastor Benny Abante Jr. of the Metropolitan Baptist Church “Yung isang kanta ‘yung (one of her songs) ‘Born This Way,’ it’s also telling the young people na you can do anything you want anyway you are born this way. It is not only immoral, it is a blasphemy. The Lord Jesus Christ is being maligned here and mocked.”
On Saturday, members of evangelical group Biblemode Youth, who believed the pop singer was ‘bad influence’ to the youth, marched along Roxas Boulevard to go to the venue and protest the holding of the concert but was stopped by police.
The city government of Pasay has warned Lady Gaga to refrain from “nudity, lewd conduct and blasphemy” at the Manila leg of her Asian tour or face violation of Article 201 Revised Penal Code of the Philippines under which those found in violation of “offending any race or religion” may face a penalty of P6,000-P12,000 and/or imprisonment.
SM Arena, in a statement said they have asked the producers to make the event entertaining “As a responsible venue provider, we have requested the production company to make the presentation entertaining, fun and stir away from controversial songs.”
New photos of Lady Gaga were released on Tuesday (May 8) that show the pop superstar in a more intimate setting and give her little monsters an opportunity to see her life behind the stage.

I'm so excited I'm gonna sit by the pilot on the planes and ask him to go faster!! *are we there yet* :))." After finally making her arrival she added, "Thank u for the sweet welcome Tokyo! Getting ready to meet Japanese Haus for drinks! I missed them! Your spirit is a rainbow like my hair X."
Gearing up for the Japanese leg of her Born This Way Ball Tour, Lady Gaga was spotted arriving in Tokyo earlier today (May 8).
The “Bad Romance” songstress showed up at Narita International Airport to see hundreds of crazy Little Monsters who had been waiting for hours just to catch a glimpse of her.

Rocking another one of her unique fashion choices, Lady Gaga made a stop by Harvard Yard in Cambridge, MA today (February 29) before launching her "Born This Way Foundation".
The "Poker Face" singer looked ready for the snowy day ahead wearing a structured long black jacket with iridescent arms, sheer black gloves and a full length black skirt with the fashion icon topping off her outfit with one of her signature wild headpieces and a red lip.
The 25 year-old entertainer took to her Twitter page to let her little monsters in on her current endeavors, tweeting, "Getting ready for Harvard. Mother is asking me for fashion advice, little does she know I stole her look. #BTWFoundation."

"The Born this Way Foundation" was started by the pop icon and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, to foster a more accepting society, where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated.
Tributes have continued to pour in following the death of notable blues and soul singer Etta James, the latest coming from international pop stars, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.
Gaga, 26, posted a tweet, declaring that ‘Tonight (January 22, 2012) I will have one whole quart of brandy for Etta.‘
Katy Perry also wrote a short post after hearing about Etta’s death when she tweeted: ‘rest in peace songbird #EttaJames.’
Other celebrities who had earlier paid tributes to the late soul diva include Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Bryan Adams.
The late soul singer passed away on January 20, 2012 at the age of 73 following complications from leukaemia.
Etta James born Jamesetta Hawkins was an American singer whose style spanned a variety of music genres including blues, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, soul, gospel and jazz.
She gained fame with hits such as ‘Dance with Me, Henry‘, ‘At Last‘, ‘Tell Mama‘, and ‘I’d Rather Go Blind‘.
She had won a number of awards including, six Grammys and 17 Blues Music Awards.
She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, the Blues Hall of Fame in 2001, and the Grammy Hall of Fame in both 1999 and 2008.
The late singer had 28 albums to her credit, since the start of her professional singing career in 1961.
Often times, music fans and pundits have made comparisons between US singers – Queen of Pop Madonna and Pop goddess Lady Gaga. It seems like the former isn’t too happy about this.
Madonna, 53, in a recent interview with 20/20 gave an upsetting critique about Gaga, 25, who seems to be enjoying the spotlight more than her in recent times.
When asked about Gaga’s music, which is often considered a younger equivalent, Madonna responded, ‘It feels, uh, reductive’.
And when the interviewer pressed further by asking if that meant it was ‘good’, Madonna simply replied ‘Look it up’. Basically, ‘reductive’ means a change towards something ‘lower’ and is definitely not a compliment.

US pop star Lady Gaga has received one of the oddest Christmas gifts as she has been slammed with a lawsuit from her former assistant. According to reports, Gaga’s former assistant Jennifer O’Neill claims she was a slave to the singer, having to do such outrageous things as fetching a towel for her after she showered!
O’Neill who worked for the pop goddess for a period of 13 months says she is still being owed $380,000 in overtime. She further elaborated on her job; it included ‘ensuring the promptness of a towel following a shower and serving as a personal alarm clock to keep (Gaga) on schedule’.
The lawsuit however is not directly aimed at Gaga but at her concert management outfit – Mermaid Touring Company. ‘The suit is completely without merit’, Gaga’s rep told the New York Post.
Lady Gaga tweeted cryptically over Twitter that she had been racking her brain on what to her Little Monsters for Christmas but now she has finally worked it out what her gift will be…
From time to time, the diva is known to disclose information and give a heads up to her fans via Twitter, usually product launches and some of her thoughts…The Queen of Pop says that on Christmas Day she’s going to “leak” to her fans an “unreleased” version of “Born This Way” which she promises was recorded live on their bus – in one take – while they were touring!
Another tantalizing tidbit for you Little Monsters – and you know who you are! – the video is apparently “uncensored,” per Mother Monster. Yes!!! Now I’m not sure what that word exactly means when Lady Gaga says she has produced a video that was uncensored but I’m sure that you’re definitely in for a treat!

The past several years record companies have been crying poor as they believe that the reason for a drop in record sales is due to pirating. But record sales never have been the major source of income for the artists – it’s the touring that makes the “real” money.
Last year was a rather lack luster year for many musicians, with only a few of the top artists selling out their concerts. But 2011 appears to have been a rebounding and record setting year for concert tours.
Each year Billboard magazine compiles a list of the top selling tours according to the gross earnings (before expenses are paid) for 2011. The list is compiled for concerts between November 1, 2010 and November 8, 2011.

In true Christmas spirit, the Queen of Pop rode in on what looked like a conifer forest motorbike, dressed to the nines in biker chic attire, including spiked black boots and leather mits!
Among her costume changes, Lady Gaga donned loose white scrubs along with her extras for her Marry the Night routine, wearing what looked like a fuzzy pale green halo on her long blond tresses.
Mother Monster’s 40-minute routine included her current hits from album Born This Way, including The Edge Of Glory, Judas, a half-piano version of the title track, which became Billboard's 1,000th Number 1 hit in February, and scrubs-clad Marry The Night finale that paid tribute to her recently released 14-minute music video, which Gaga says broke all sorts of YouTube records.
Lady Gaga also sang hits Bad Romance, Telephone, Poker Face and her take on White Christmas from her Very Gaga Thanksgiving Special in which the diva also added "This song's too short…Just when I get into it, it stops. It's like a really bad orgasm." Ooops! Knowing that she had made an R-rated joke at a G-rated show, Gaga then added, "Merry Christmas, New York!"

Controversial and weird US singer Lady Gaga says she is writing a song about the late British Royal Lady Diana who died in a car accident in Paris in 1997.
She has also added that she fears she may end up losing her life in a similar fashion.
A source told The Sun newspaper: ‘Gaga has always been absolutely engrossed in the life of Diana and sees herself as a 21st-century incarnation of her’.
‘She knows she is almost as recognizable as Diana and is hounded by photographers and fans on the same level. Gaga has had dreams about dying the same way as her and has genuine fears that her fame could literally kill her, either in a chase or at the hands of crazies’, the source was quoted to have said.
Gaga’s earlier single, ‘Paparazzi‘, was also about the perils of celebrity and was also written with the tragic figure of Diana in mind.

It was recalled that on August 31 1997, Diana, Princess of Wales, died as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident in the Pont de l’Alma road tunnel in Paris, at the age of 36.
