HOW DON JAZZY SIGNED TIWA SAVAGE
The Mo’hits era is over and all parties involved are finally moving on.
We’ve seen D’banj remove himself from all things Mo’Hits, relocating overseas and signing a fresh recording deal with Mecury Records/G.O.O.D Music.
For several weeks now, questions have been asked about Don Jazzy’s future plans and if he will still hoist and fly the Mo’Hits flag with his loyal label mates .
Michael Collins, the revered sprung up a surprise last midnight, announcing a new record label and signing on the hottest female R&B act in the country!
Just this morning, Don Jazzy announced the signing of R&B-Pop singer Tiwa Savage to his new record label Mavin Records, scooping her from her former deal with events-media boss Cecil Hammond who has in the last few years overseen the singer’s career under his Flytime Promotions umbrella.
The pop act who is working to release her debut album will now feature with the former Mo’Hits clan in a new album ‘Solar Plexus’ set to be released tomorrow May 8, 2012.
Contrary to what is being speculated, about Tiwa dumping Flytime from Mavin, Cecil Hammond tells us there are no issues, insisting he ’won’t say anything on the phone. Let’s schedule a meeting’.
However speaking with Mavin Records publicist Terfa Tilley-Gyado, he confirms that Tiwa has indeed been released by Cecil Hammond’s Flytime Promotions before signing unto MAVIN.
Mavin says Tiwa was signed two weeks ago after ending her contract with Flytime.
She had been in talks with Don Jazzy for several months, according to our investigations..
‘Yes she has been released from all contracts with Cecil’s Flytime and is now a full signee under MAVIN’, Tilley-Gyado told NET over the phone.
The status of Tiwa’s current manager Tunji ‘T Billz’ Balogun still remains uncertain as Mavin has hired a new management and PR company. Tilley-Gyado however says he cannot ascertain if Balogun will continue working with Tiwa.
‘I can’t say about that but she should retain her PR and Management team’.
All efforts to reach Tunji Balogun proved abortive as he did not pick his calls neither did he reply text messages sent to his phone.
Tiwa now joins the likes of Dr SID, D’Prince and Wande Coal who have steadily stuck behind the hit producer through the Mo’Hits saga and eventual split.
A comment on Twitter about the new development reads; This movie is gonna take a long time to play out. Don Jazzy does his own marketing. DBanj is gonna have to rely on the record company… Hmm’.
QUICK TIPS TO USE TWITTER SEARCH IN A BETTER WAY
The new Twitter homepage is a refreshing change and brings a whole bunch of new features. The major change is that Twitter has improved its search functionality and highlights it with a large search box on its homepage. It has also introduced a list of trending or popular topics that are making rounds on twitter.
This shows that Twitter is moving from a simple social networking site to a real-time search engine. Biz Stone, founder of Twitter, said on his Twitter blog that they will continue to improve the search results. Read more...

LADY GAGA CELEBRATES 21 MILLION TWITTER FOLLOWERS
She never stops communicating with her ‘little monsters,’ and last night (March 21) Lady Gaga took to her Twitter page to share a new photo.
The “Edge of Glory” songstress donned a blue dress with black eyeliner and red lipstick as she posed with a pair of fake diamond earrings, though she looked a bit worn out from her busy schedule.
Gaga included the caption, “Miss you monsters. About 1 month until tour. Whatdya think of these fake baubles? #DirtCheapPlasticLooksFantastic.”
And given that she’s just broken through the 21-million follower barrier, it’s no wonder Gaga is such a devoted tweet-er.
She wrote, “Wow 21,000,000 monsters. Can we build a Twitter Country now and all go live there. #NoSpeakingJustTweeting EMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY ONLY!!!! :)”

BOBBI KRISTINA BROWN'S REP DENIES ENGAGEMENT
After a week of swirling rumors, Bobbi Kristina Brown's rep finally confirmed that she's not engaged to her 'adopted' brother, Nick Gordon.
Last week, Whitney Houston's daughter was seen out and about with a ring on her finger, leading many to speculate that she may be walking down the aisle in the near future.
On Monday (March 19), Brown's rep told People magazine that the reports are "not true" with another source adding, “She is just wearing her mom’s ring.”
Since the death of her singing icon mother just a little over a month ago, an insider dished to Us Weekly that Bobbi's new relationship has been helpful in the grieving process, saying, “Bobbi Kristina is still so vulnerable since her mother passed away,” adding, “But Nick has become like her rock.”
The controversial romance first made headlines about a week ago when Gordon posted a picture of the two on his Twitter page.

FACEBOOK, TWITTER AND OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA: WHAT YOUR POST SAY ABOUT YOU?
We are living in the height of the digital age and everyone is getting in on the action. Using social media has become as commonplace and necessary as air and we participate as if our lives depend on it.
From young, old and everyone in between, Tweeting on Twitter and updating our status on Facebook have become a daily must-do for millions. Many see it as harmless fun, others use it to network for business or moonlight for pleasure while still others use them as a tool of activism or to make a political statement.
Twitter's 140 characters or less, makes ranting through tweets quite interesting and many celebrities and mere mortals have gone after each other with an unabashed viciousness that they would not normally do out of cyberspace. Why?
Now there is a study which claims that our Facebook status reveals a great deal about who we are and some employers may be using what we say or rant about to profile us psychologically and decide whether we would make great employees, team players or not.
These days, Facebook and Twitter feuds are erupting all over and even killings have resulted from Facebook fights. Then there are the political posts pet peeves. Some users are complaining about political rants getting out of hand and personal ideology and activism being crammed down their throats by their 'Friends" on Facebook.
So how much is too much?
More importantly, what does your status or tweet say about you? Do you post excessively or hardly--and if you do, what exactly do you post? What your 'friends' might consider mindless drivel, numerous games, a stream of daily living quotes that you do not live by or endless YouTube videos clogging the news feed? Are you the nurturing type who like to post affirmations or words of encouragement? Or are you one of those users who stay quietly in the background, observing but saying nothing?
Then again you may be the life of the party on the Social Network where your status updates rank you among the 'popular,'--you know--akin to the high school hierachy-- with a friends list to match. Or the ones with the nude or drunk party pics? Or the the opposite side of the spectrum where the extreme religious reside and every post tells how good God is?
The study say they are a few types of users in social media. The neurotic, the narcissist, the extrovert, and the closeted introvert, the overblown egos and those with a sense of grandeur clearly lacking in their real lives but oozing online. Then there is the cowardly bully, who hides behind aliases to spew hateful vitriol, insults and loud nothings.
Where do you fit in? Or are you completely outside all of the boxes above?

TEACHERS, STUDENTS, FACEBOOK: TO BAN OR NOT TO BAN
Should middle and high school students and their teachers communicate using Facebook, Twitter, email and other social media and internet tools? In an age when nearly everyone, every team, every cause has a Facebook page, does a teacher really want her students to see her in photos from her last vacation in a sunny part of the world?
As teachers are older and in a position of authority of responsibility, it behooves them to use social media appropriately; most school administrators say that most teachers do indeed do. But it only takes one revelation of illicit text messages to highlight the risks of increased contact. In the wake of numerous scandals, school districts across the US are creating strict new regulations:
In Illinois, a 56-year-old former language-arts teacher was found guilty in September on sexual abuse and assault charges involving a 17-year-old female student with whom he had exchanged more than 700 text messages. In Sacramento, a 37-year-old high school band director pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct stemming from his relationship with a 16-year-old female student; her Facebook page had more than 1,200 private messages from him, some about massages. In Pennsylvania, a 39-year-old male high school athletic director pleaded guilty in November to charges of attempted corruption of a minor; he was arrested after offering a former male student gifts in exchange for sex.
It might seem simply common sense not to allow students and teachers to friend each other on Facebook; to follow each other on Twitter. But teachers interviewed in the New York Times note that such social media sites have been good ways to communicate with students and even to encourage quiet students to ask questions they might be afraid to voice in class. Jennifer Pust, head of the English department at Santa Monica High School, indeed points out that “we would do more good keeping kids safe by teaching them how to use these tools and navigate this online world rather than locking it down and pretending that it is not in our realm.”
Forbidding student-teacher contact via social media, texting and the like could be in violation of free speech rights. Citing this very reason, the Missouri teachers union successfully argued before a judge that a new law instituting a statewide ban on electronic communication between teachers and students was unconstitutional. School boards are charged with devising their own social media policies by March 1. Across the nation, school boards in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia have already created such policies or are in the process of making them.
One more point. If students and teachers communicate digitally using Facebook — and sufficient numbers do, such that Facebook offers guidance about doing so – and the like, or can text message each other on cell phones, students and teachers are no longer only interacting within the space and time of school grounds and of the school day. What if a student contacts a teacher at 8:30 pm or later in the evening because she forgot a homework assignment? Is the possibility of 24/7 online contact between students and teachers really in the best interests of both?

Popular Nigerian R&B singer Tiwa Savage has hit back at those criticizing her dress sense.

‘No 1 tlks wen I wear dresses, haters wanna make out like I only wear pant. Get a life. Truth is most haters do worse things behind clsd doors. @RandaAndrew my dear its unfortunate the criticism is not valid. If I was always naked then fine but truth is most times I am not’, she added.

FACEBOOK ADMITS MISTAKES IN PROTECTING USERS' PRIVACY
Government regulators are sharing some alarming information about Facebook. They say that Facebook failed to keep privacy promises and deceived its customers. The unflattering portrait of Facebook's privacy practices emerged Tuesday in a Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The FTC put out a statement last night in which it said that the social networking website had promised that it will secure the information of its users by keeping it secretive but at the same time, it repeatedly allowed the personal information to be shared and made it public on various accounts. FTC noted that these actions were not fair, deceptive and breached federal law.
The Federal Trade Commission has also given the social networking website settlement requirements that require to follow steps that assure that it does not exposes and breaches the information of those using the social networking website, without giving them before-hand notice and keeping their consent in regard.
Some of the complaints against Facebook that has been raised by FTC include changing of the website by Facebook in 2009 that some changes were made to the profile of users which turned their previously altered things which were private as public. The users were not warned of the changes at all. FTC also noted, amongst a list of other privacy breaches done by Facebook, that the 3rd party applications use personal data/all data of users rather than the information it just needs and the users who play these 3rd party applications or use other kinds of such applications, were not aware of it.
The social networking website also had a program by the name of Verified Apps and it was claimed by Facebook that is certified the security rights of the participating applications, when it actually didn’t. The FTC pointed out many other things as well in its report against Facebook. Users haven’t been too happy with the change of settings done by Facebook every now and then, which leaves their privacy to be manipulated in some way or the other.
GAME TALKS BEEF, "DETOX," LA SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT TWITTER CONTROVERSY
Chuck Taylor dismisses his beefs, "Detox's" latest push-back, and discusses his Twitter gaffe from months ago. In a recent interview with Tim Westwood, Game began by dismissing all of his beefs, as he is inclined to do on occasion.
"The Jay-Z shit? Who cares. 50? Who cares. I don't care about that. All I care about is my fans, my kids, my family, and my friends," he proclaimed.
When asked whether he had beef with Big Sean, Game simply replied, "Big Sean is a cool kid. I ain't got beef with nobody. Plus, nobody want no fucking beef with me anyway."
In light of the news that Dr. Dre would be taking a break from recording, Game also spoke on Detox. "I don't know. You have to ask Dr. Dre when he comes to the U.K.," said Game. "It is what it is."
Game also gave his take on his highly-publicized spat with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department caused by tweets sent via his Twitter account. "That was a fucked up situation," admitted Game. "That shit had me all over BBC News and CNN and shit. It is what it is. Twitter's dangerous. Twitter can get people killed. Twitter's doin' all kinds of shit. Gotta be careful with your tweet."
"That shit is stupid. None of you kids should be out there trying to die over a website. It don't make no sense. Live your life and have fun."

50 CENTS REACTS TO T.I., ELABORATES ON INITIAL COMMENTS
Fif takes to Twitter after T.I. responded to his statements that his wife should have taken the rap for him in a drug-related arrest.
After 50 Cent said that T.I.'s wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle should take the rap for him in a drug-related arrest, Tip responded to Fif by stating that he would rather take responsibility than push it onto someone else. The G-Unit leader took to Twitter yesterday to address the comments, echoing his earlier comment that Cottle's punishment would have been less severe.
"Man I just saw something T.I said in VIBE about a tweet I wrote when he caught his drug case. He just got out a jam and caught a new one. Any other time a nigga done. Get caught with 10 machine gun an silencer then catch a drug charge. You will f**k around and get natural life. This boy got a get outta jail FREE card. Don’t get emotional over your lady. Shit she ballin to lol."
T.I. then took to Twitter to say that he would not engage in any sort of beef on the social networking site. "Straight G code...No "TWWEFIN" here champ!!!! Peace 2da real og's we out!!!" he wrote.

Lady Gaga's 'Little Monsters' Bully Adele On Twitter
Lady Gaga, photographed leaving the X-Factor studios in London on November 13th, might have to talk to her fans about bullying again. Gaga’s little monsters who we thought followed Gaga’s guidance of peace, love and equality for all have been making tasteless jokes about Adele’s weight after comments were made about which female was the best selling artist in the world. The Daily Mail reports that the little monsters are afraid Gaga will lose to Adele at the Grammy’s and have taken to Twitter and YouTube to poke fun of Adele because of the title, yes it does sound that immature.
The little monsters have been tweeting cruel remarks like, “Confirmed: Gaga will not be wearing her meat dress because she is afraid Adele will eat it.” One Gaga fan made a video about Adele’s weight by changing the lyrics of a Gaga song, “I’m bootyful in my own way because Arby’s makes nooo mistakes, I’ve got the right order, baby, I was born this weight.” That wasn’t even a good mocking lyric. Instead of canceling her tour because of surgery, some Gaga fans have made the comment that the real reason why Adele had to cancel her tour was because she couldn’t sell enough tickets.
It isn’t every fan that is going around making cruel remarks, an executive at Gaga’s record label said, “Lady Gaga does not approve of bullying anyone for their physical appearance, it goes against everything she stands for. A tiny handful of fans may be letting her down.” There have been plenty of past fan feuds with female musicians like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, Demi and Selena and Britney and Christina, but it gets kind of personal to fans when people start commenting on body image instead of focusing on the talent.
