Mercy Johnson and her wedding: Part 1

Just as we all know that it is barely three weeks to Mercy Johnson’s grand wedding ceremony, plans are being cemented and invitation cards have already started going out, but as the count down begins to the wedding date, some lady that goes by the name Lovely Okojie has surfaced, and her story is that she was married and is still married with two kids to Prince Odianose Okojie, Mercy Johnson’s husband to be. As expected, this situation has been generating a lot of comments but here are some basic facts to the story.

The relationship between Prince Odianose Okojie and Lovely Okojie, packed up five years ago, and Mercy Johnson’s marriage plans to Odi has been in the open for quite a while. Odianose truly is the father of the girl in the pictures being spread all over the internet but there are doubts that he is the father of the boy.

Odianose is a prince and can marry more than one wife under customary law. In her bid to stop the marriage, Lovely Okogie has gone to Christ Embassy to demand that the marriage be stopped, but the Church has requested that she provides a marriage certificate to back up her claim but as at the time of this publication, Lovely is yet to come up with a tenable certificate. While we are left to decide who is right and who is not, Mercy Johnson and Odi’s plans for the wedding remains the same, it will be a 4-day event that will run from August 25 to 28, 2011. In details, the court wedding will be on August 25, Engagement will be on 26, Church wedding and reception will be on 27 and then a Thanksgiving Service/Bride’s party on 28.

Minaj Fined £7 For Swearing During Jamaican Concert

Nicki Minaj has been given a £7 fine (equaled to 1,000 Jamaican dollars) for swearing while performing at the Montego Bay Reggae Sumfest. After the show, Nicki was approached by police who issued her a court date set for July 28th. Continue reading for more info. Nicki Minaj has been fined for swearing during a performance in Jamaica.

The rapper and singer broke the law with her profanity-laden set, prompting a court appearance and a tiny fine. It was Minaj’s first time performing in Jamaica, a country that strongly enforces anti-profanity laws at concerts. After headlining the final night at Montego Bay’s Reggae Sumfest, Minaj was reportedly approached by Jamaican police and told she had violated the Towns and Communities Act, which dates from British colonial times and penalises “obscenity in a public place”. She was issued a court summons for 28 July.

Minaj never appeared. Instead, a local lawyer entered a guilty plea on her behalf. The singer was ordered to pay a fine of 1,000 Jamaican dollars – equivalent to just £7. On Twitter, Minaj joked about the incident: “I swear I just had the time of my life,” she wrote.

In the Jamaican press, some journalists wondered whether local artists would have been shown the same leniency as Minaj. “[What] would have happened had those same expletives come from the lips of our own Jamaican performers?” asked the Jamaica Observer. Earlier in the festival, singjay I-Octane apparently told the crowd he had been warned not to perform his marijuana anthem Puff It. In a more serious incident in 2005, reggae artist Sizzla spent two weeks in prison after singing about killing gay men.
Minaj is currently touring the US in support of Britney Spears.

Rapper Nicki Minaj is the latest celebrity to deal with sex tape rumors on the Internet. The 25-year-old Queens, N.Y. bred rapper has been heralded by the New York Times as the "Cindy Sherman of Rap" and is a hot draw on radio for her hit "Knockout" with label mate Lil Wayne. Thus far, she has not commented on the rumors.

Thirteen items belonging to the late kung fu legend Bruce Lee, including a hand-written letter and a fur-lined coat, are set to go under the hammer in Hong Kong this weekend.

Among the items to be sold in what is thought to be the largest auction of Lee memorabilia in Hong Kong to date is the fur-lined costume jacket, which was made for Lee's film "Game of Death" and worn by him in 1973, just before he died of a reaction to medication.

Other items include a letter written in 1966 to Taky Kimura, a friend in Seattle and fellow kung fu instructor who was best man at Lee's 1964 wedding.
"Actually I think the most important, the best item, is the three-page hand-written letter by Bruce Lee," said Anna Lee, spokesperson for Phila China Auctions, which with U.S.-based Kelleher Auctions is conducting the sale.

Hugh Hefner is the latest to sign up for the Those Who Plank club -- which includes Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Rosario Dawson and more. The strangely fascinating fad of stiffed posing hit the Playboy mansion on Tuesday night, according to Hef's Twitter page

Post-Uno game but pre-bedtime, girlfriend Anna Sophia Berglund cajoled the house impresario to lay face-down on the dining table -- silkily robed and all. Afterward, Hefner executed a more devious revenge by aligning the playmates in planking fashion and sporting a goofy thumbs up.

The planking photo even scored some air time on Dutch television, according to Twitter user dutchGNDfan.
