THE UNTOLD STORY OF ENEBELI ELEBUWA'S AILMENT

It is no longer news that veteran actor, Enebeli Elebuwa is down with stroke. According to sources, the ace actor can hardly talk,nor raise parts of his body except with the assistance of family members or his wife who is always on hand to render one form of assistance to him or the other.

Recall that about some time last year 2010, the media was agog with Enebeli battling with ill health and when he found his way to a popular church Resurrection Praise Ministries For Africa,located somewhere in Satelite Town close to Navy Barracks Navy Town, Enebeli through the Prophet in-charge of the ministry got some divine healing as the problems associated with his use of his legs became a thing of the past as his use of walking aid was discarded.Then, Enebeli even gave a testimony of how God used the Prophet Samson Mustapha Bejamin to heal him.

All that lasted till this year when all of a sudden, Enebeli Elebuwa left the church in a manner still not clear to many and his problems which were banished via divine intervention started reoccurring again,thus culminating in his present state of health and the recent stroke which he is suffering from.

Before his departure from Resurrection Praise Ministries For Africa, Enebeli Elebuwa while on location in Nollywood used to extol the virtues of the man of God in his church who God used to heal him,and on most occasion,he was branded an evangelist propagating the word of God while on film location.Many church members told us that the return of the stroke may not be unconnected with his leaving the church.

According to them,the believe in the church is that “for your miracle to remain permanent,members must remain under the protective shield that the man of God the Prophet has provided,and that any person who after collecting a miracle and decides to leave might have his problems revisiting him again because the enemies which were banished will come back stronger to reclaim what they were chased away from”.

Many however say the church members claim are hogwash arguing that if Enebeli was healed by miracle in the first place,leaving the church would not have affected him as afterall”the miracle came From God and not the church premises”

But at this time,both had agreed to move on for the sake of their daughter and in loving memory of their 12-year union.

And soon,they will be heading to the courts to formalize their separation.We gathered that Kate and Rod are talking to lawyers and in no time,the divorce suit,which many close friends and associates expect to be amicable will begin. When we called the actress,she refused to make elaborate comments on her husband and her marriage.

Sir Alex's European drive undimmed

Boasting 12 Premier League titles, five FA Cups and two UEFA Champions League successes, Sir Alex Ferguson's time at Manchester UnitedManchester United FC is unparalleled in English football. Ahead of the 25th anniversary of his Old Trafford tenure, which he celebrates on Sunday, the Scottish manager spoke to UEFA.com about the desire for European success that first stirred in him as long ago as 1960 and which still drives him 51 years on.

Sir Alex's initital interest of continental competition was stirred when he attended the 1960 European Champion Clubs' Cup final – hosted at Hampden Park in his native Glasgow – and won by Real Madrid CF. "That was probably the first instance of recognising what real European football was," said the Manchester United manager.

"I followed Rangers at the time and when they reached the semi-finals, they played Eintracht Frankfurt and lost 12-4 on aggregate, so every Rangers fan was saying, 'This Eintracht team will wipe Real Madrid away in the final,' – of course, it was the other way about and that gave me a measure of how good Real Madrid really were – they were unbelievable. They were the first really international club side and they were fantastic."

He also followed Manchester United's first UEFA club competition trophy win in 1968, when, Sir Matt Busby's side claimed their first European Champion Clubs' Cup a decade after the devastating Munich air disaster. "Everyone in Scotland was pleased for Sir Matt considering what he'd endured in 1958 and rebuilt that team mainly from his own players. The actual final team had only three players he'd brought in from other clubs and it was an incredible achievement. For Sir Matt, that was the pinnacle, being able to recreate from the loss of Munich and rebuilding a team to win the European Cup."

Guiding Aberdeen FC to a 2-1 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup victory against Real Madrid in 1983 only enhanced Sir Alex's desire for more European silverware – a mentality he would instil at Manchester United over his quarter-of-a-century reign, which took in a dramatic 2-1 victory against FC Bayern München in 1999, and, more recently, three further UEFA Champions League final appearances in the last four seasons.

"I think we've gathered an experience over the last few years that has acquitted us well for European football now," said the 69-year-old, whose side completed a second UEFA Champions League triumph in 2008. "I think we're far more patient away from home and we never used to be, so possession of the ball and concentration is much better. Sometimes in a European game, you can be doing actually quite well and then the roof falls in, suddenly. Many of our players are used to that now. They don't get caught out by sudden attacks the way they used to years ago."

A defeat by FC Barcelona in the 2011 UEFA Champions League final prompted Sir Alex to add to his squad in the summer with thoughts of a third European Cup foremost in his mind. "It's a great challenge. It's fantastic to equal anyone's top record and [former Liverpool FC manager] Bob Paisley was one of the great old wise birds of the game. He didn't say a lot but he knew a lot and his imparting of knowledge always had a great impact on the players of that time.

"It was a great period for them, but it's our time now. It's an opportunity for us to get to another level as Real Madrid have won it nine times, AC Milan seven times; Liverpool five; Bayern four; Ajax four; we really should be in that bracket so this is our opportunity to get into that bracket of more Champions League wins."

Plane with 500 pilgrims crash lands in Kano

A Yola bound Boeing 747 Jumbo jet belonging to Max Air yesterday had a burst tyre during an emergency landing in Kano, with 500 passengers returning from Hajj escaping death. The plane, with registration No 5N-DBM, narrowly escaped crashing while landing at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, but it was learnt that none of the passengers was injured.

An eyewitness told Daily Trust that the Yola bound plane made an emergency landing by 3.00am local time adding that the pilot manoeuvred the plane to a halt. Daily Trust gathered that immediately the passenger alighted from the plane, they prostrated at the tarmac to show their appreciation to Allah for surviving the incident.

When contacted, Media Consultant to the Airline, Dahiru Ibrahim, confirmed the incident. He said, “the aircraft lost four tyres while landing at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport but I want to state clearly that it was not an emergency landing as was speculated in some quarters.The pilot decided to land at the Kano airport because airplanes cannot land at night at Yola Airport where passengers would have been flown to their base in Yola in a broad day light.”
