Update On Baba Suwe's Cocaine Saga

News reaching us that the legal luminary to the detained Nollywood actor and drug peddler, Babatunde Omidina is said to have confessed to the agents of NDLEA that his client mistakenly swallowed the substance. Well, I think the NBA too should mistakenly revolt the lawyer's license.

Our source alleged that Baba Suwe has promised to corporate and help the anti-drug agency in their investigation to nab those behind the illicit deal that led to his arrest.

Information emanating from another source says there is a secret move by a powerful politician in Lagos to get Baba Suwe out of the disgrace he brought upon himself.

Waje undergoes surgery

Sonorous voiced singer, Waje was on Saturday, October 1, 2011, operated upon to remove her inflamed and infected appendix. Confirming she really had an appendix that was almost rupturing, she said she was initially treating malaria not knowing she had a more complicated ailment.

I was not feeling too well. So, I had to see my doctor. After receiving treatment, I went home only to find out I could not walk properly. It was really painful. After undergoing full scan, It was discovered I had appendicitis (an illness in which the appendix is infected and painful and usually needs to be removed by surgery).

That was how I was booked for surgery I never planned. I thank God for saving my precious life Waje narrated.

Already discharged from a Lagos private hospital, Aitauaja Iroube, as her parents named her at birth, would be working from home until she fully recovers.

I’m working slowly so as not to jeopardize my health. Although, I am convalescing at home, I am trying to stay strong before resuming work. I hope to be strong to perform at the October 22 Hip Hop World Awards and other shows I have been booked she explained

Birth rate drops in the US due to recession

A report released by the Pew Research Centre has revealed that the birth rate in the US has dropped considerably after 2008 – probably due to recession. In 2007, a record number of 4.3 million births had been recorded but in 2010, the provisional data available indicates that the figure dropped to just over 4 million.

An analysis tends to link poor economy with declining fertility rates and race and ethnicity also play some role in defining the birth rate. During the period 2008-2009, there was a decline by 5.9% in Hispanic women, 2.4% among the black women and 1.6% among the whites.

However, while the birth rate is going down, there is an increase in population because of the influx of immigrants who land up in the US in the hope of better living conditions and a better life.

Frank Edoho's Ex-wife: Katherine Edoho finds her groove again

It was a revitalized Catherine Obiang , the estranged wife of popular host of TV game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Frank Edoho that stepped out last weekend at a concert in Lagos. Before this time, the ex-NTA/ Classic FM presenter had maintained a low profile, following her messy and much publicised separation from her hubby, which hit the media in March.

Looking elegant in her trademark crew-cut and donning a jean with an armless top, the TV gal of Cameroon descent has brushed aside the sad ordeal of her marriage break up to hit the social circuit at full throttle. Catherine Edoho was among the celebrities that stormed the imposing New Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites, last weekend for rapper, Ice Prince’s album launch/concert tagged: E.L.I (Everybody Loves Ice Prince).

Although, she tried to evade the prying eyes of paparazzi, the mother of three, who was in the company of a female friend, thoroughly enjoyed herself to the hilt. She also rocked and grooved to music of top hip hop artistes on parade at the show including, Tuface Idibia, M.I and Wizkid among others.

What began as a celebrated union between the two highflying TV personalities finally packed up for good early this year after reports of abuse and domestic violence. This was the climax of the relationship which first began to show some cracks four years ago. In reality, the couple have been separated for a year and had only been struggling to make things work. In their first public outburst in 2007, Catherine had gone to the press to describe her hubby as a “beast” who beats her silly at the slightest provocation after fleeing her matrimonial home for that of her family in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroun. However with his tails between his legs, Frank Edoho who is also a highly sought after compere and voice over artiste put aside his ego and went to beg his wife.

Less than three years after their reunion, the couple again fell apart and this time there is certainly no chance of reunion as both individuals have been linked to new romances after the painful and shocking split. With a tone of resignation, Frank Edoho in July went on twitter, the popular social networking site and posted thus: “Hey people, I just want you to know that I would never do anything to hurt my family. But sadly, I am separated from my wife and it’s irreconcilable. We’ve been separated for over a year now and I want to say Kathy is a great mum and a good person. But it wasn’t working. When I talk about what really went down, jaws will drop and then you will learn that if you want to get hitched, make sure it’s your soul mate please. I was trying to give it a last-ditch effort by recapping good times but to no avail….No more ball-and-chain for me. I’ve had it. I’m out.”
