40 discusses the process that landed K. Dot on Drake's "Take Care." The producer shed light on what Drake's reaction was to Kendrick's verse. When Drake released his second studio album, many were surprised to find Kendrick
Lamar as a featured guest. According to Drake's producer, Noah "40" Shebib, K. Dot's verse blew him and Drizzy away. During a recent interview with MTV, 40 discussed the process that allowed Kendrick to shine on Drake's Take Care, shedding light on how he and Drake reacted to K. Dot's lyrics.
"I guess [Drake] just sent it to Kendrick at some point," 40 shared. "I had no idea. He had just sent it to Kendrick. Towards the end of the process, we got it back. I think it was pretty quick. He must have sent it on his own. A few days later,
Kendrick sent back the verse, or whatever the case was. He was like, 'I got this Kendrick verse!' I'm like, 'On what?' He's like, 'On the beat you did.' I'm like, 'On what beat?' You know?" The verse, which touches on Kendrick's first encounters with Drake, hit home. Drake then decided the verse needed to be on the album, as 40 explained.
"It was crazy for Kendrick to write that verse and send that back, about Drake and meeting Drake and his opinions and feelings on him and that. We were both kind of blown away by that. Drake was really clear. He was like, 'I want to put this on my album.'"
BEAT BY DRE SPLITS FROM MONSTER CABLE PRODUCTS
Beats opted not to renew its five-year contract when it expires at the end of 2012. After striking success over the past few years, Beats By Dre is splitting from Monster Cable Products when its five-year contract expires at the end of 2012.
According to Business Week, Beats, which held a 53 percent stake of the $1 billion annual headphone market in 2011, has decided to terminate its partnership with the electronics brand. While each company says that there is no animosity, the publication reports that there was ill will over financial terms, “with divergent views on which side deserves the most credit for the line’s success and Beats balking at its share of the revenue.”
Monster is planning on putting out eight lines of headphones to compete with Beats. Jimmy Iovine, Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman, isn’t sweating it. “We have very big ambitions for Beats beyond headphones,” he says. “Music has got to succeed on the phone or else the record industry will never thrive.”

NEW BOKO HARAM LEADER DARES JONATHAN; JUSTIFIES KILLING OF CHRISTIANS
The leader of radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram has challenged the authority of Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan in a rare online video, vowing more attacks in a nation increasingly overcome by unrest and divided by religion. Imam Abubakar Shekau said recent killings of Christians were justifiable revenge attacks and President Goodluck Jonathan had no power to stop the group’s insurgency, in the first video of him posted online, according to Reuters.
The 15 minute video of Abubakar Shekau posted on YouTube is similar in style to messages submitted by other Islamist groups like al Qaeda, a sign of the growing influence other jihadist movements are having on the sect. Boko Haram, whose name translates from the northern Hausa language as “Western education is sinful”, has been behind almost daily killings in its home base in the largely Muslim northeast, most recently targeting Christians.
“Christians, everyone knows what they have done to us and Muslims … we were attacked and we decided to defend ourselves and, because we were on the right path, Allah has made us stronger,” Shekau says in Hausa, sat in front of two Kalashnikov rifles and wearing a camouflage bullet proof jacket.
“Jonathan, (you) know full well that this thing is beyond your powers,” he added, referring to the president. Shekau is understood to have taken over control of Boko Haram, which wants sharia law more widely applied across Africa’s most populous nation, after the sect’s founder
Mohammed Yusuf was killed in police custody in 2009 following an uprising in which 700 people were killed.“Everyone knows how our leader was murdered and everyone knows the way the Muslims were killed,” Shekau says, remaining stony faced and calm throughout. “Catastrophe is caused by unbelief, unrest is unbelief, injustice is unbelief, democracy is unbelief and the constitution is unbelief.”
Boko Haram’s attacks began small scale – usually drive-by shootings on authority figures or drinking joints in their home town of Maiduguri, in the country’s remote northeast corner – but lately have become increasingly sophisticated and ambitious. In August last year, the sect carried out a suicide car bombing of the United Nations headquarters in the capital Abuja that killed 24 people. On Christmas Day it masterminded coordinated explosions against Christians, including one at St.
Theresa’s Catholic a church near Abuja that killed at least 37 people. The most recent attacks have targeted Christians but dozens of Muslims were killed by the sect last year. “Anyone who attacks us, we will attack him back even if he is a Muslim. We shall kill anyone who works against Islam, even if he is a Muslim,” Shekau said in the online tape.
Gunmen shot dead four people at a petrol station on Wednesday in the northeast Nigerian town of Potiskum, where on Tuesday suspected members of Boko Haram shot dead eight people. Boko Haram’s increasingly violent insurgency has become a major security problem for
Jonathan’s administration, also facing pressure from nationwide strikes and protests against fuel price increases. “Four people were shot dead yesterday but I cannot confirm whether the attackers were Boko Haram,” said Tanko Lawal, police commander in Yobe state. Yobe’s government said on Wednesday it has banned the use of motorbikes, which have often been used in Boko Haram attacks, in volatile areas of the state.

HOW COMEDIAN GANDOKI DISAPPEARED FROM LAGOS
No doubt, the stage name Gandoki rang a bell in Lagos entertainment arena few years back, but gradually this brand seemed to have disappeared into thin air.
People who are closely following activities in entertainment industry will unarguably agree that erstwhile hot stand-up comedian Gandoki has disappeared from the scene of showbiz in Lagos.
Close sources disclosed that Gandoki has finally relocated to Warri,Delta State and has abandoned everything that has to do with Lagos entertainment circle. As gathered, his close pals are pointing their fingers on two major reasons that made this erstwhile highly patronized MC Cum comedian run away from the scene.
They informed that two years back, other top stand-up comedians who usually stage the biggest shows in town stopped involving him in their shows. They were said to have abandoned Gandoki and shunned his contributions and services in their concerts. As gathered,Gandoki was allegedly the reason behind the decision of his colleagues and friends,as he on different occasions collected up-front fees from people and colleagues for concerts cum events without delivering such services.
It was alleged that he engaged in this dishonesty for over one year without people raising eye-brows,till two years back when he received an up-front fee for a show organized by a popular musician without attending the show held in London,United Kingdom. The development triggered a serious fight between the comedian and the popular singer who vowed that he must refund the money or put his career on the line.Like someone who was blacklisted, gradually, the name Gandoki stopped appearing on the list of comedians who will perform at various concerts held in and outside the country.
The politics of how to get jobs and prove his honesty to his friends and colleagues became an unbearable challenge for this talented rib-cracker as he withdrew from the scene and eventually moved back to his former base,Warri. Right now,Gandoki is said to be one of the biggest names and comedians in Warri as he is not only organizing the big shows, but also grooming younger artistes who are making the state proud.

GERMAN PRIEST ADMITS TO 280 INSTANCES OF SEX ABUSE
Klaus Ziehe, lead court prosecutor in the central city of Braunschweig, in comments published by Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, said "the worst aspect is that he exploited their trust," after the 46-year-old German Catholic priest admitted before a court on Thursday to sexually abusing three boys over eight years, including one he was preparing for his first communion and two brothers during trips that included
Disneyland in Paris, abs-cbn news said. The priest, only named in court as Andreas L., who admitted abusing the boys from 2004, came to the court covering his face with a folder to the utter shock of attendees who shook their heads or covered their mouths when the charges were read aloud.
The cases may be partly behind disenchantment among the faithful accounting for 180,000 German Catholics who left the church in 2010 amid allegations that priests abused children for decades.
The German Catholic church faced some 600 demands for compensation as the government of Berlin set up a 100 million euro fund to pay for the therapy of the abused victims.

DJ WHOO KID TALKS ABOUT GETTING FIRED AND SMACKED BY 50 CENT
Whoo Kid jokingly recalls all of the times he's been fired and "love" smacked by 50, talking about his experience behind the turntables for G-Unit's General.
For years, DJ Whoo Kid has been the resident deejay for 50 Cent and his G-Unit camp. During a recent stop at ThisIs50, Whoo Kid talked about his experience with G-Unit and described what it feels like to be fired and smacked by 50 Cent. DJ Whoo Kid also explained why Eminem and his camp wanted him killed.
"The first DJ got stabbed and left town, went to Tennessee or somewhere," Whoo Kid said, describing how he became a part of G-Unit. "I think it was during that studio situation where the lights got cut off. It was a deejay that got stabbed. When 50's mixtape came out, they had the tour schedule. They just needed a deejay but at that time, they weren't interviewing anybody. The trust issue was crazy. So, I was put into G-Unit as the deejay."
Since then, Whoo Kid has rocked with 50 Cent on stage. However, during that time, 50 also fired Whoo Kid on several occasions.
"It's up to 48 [times being fired] now," he said. "I don't mind getting fired because I guess he's so used to doing it so much that he gotta keep firing me. You could go on YouTube and see all the countries I got fired from."
Firing has been one part of the job, but smacks have apparently been another. According to Whoo Kid, he watched as 50 "smacked random people" during a tour, adding that he's also been smacked.
"I didn't want to fuck up with 50 on stage because during those days, he was ruthless. He was smacking everybody. He was smacking people per day. He was smacking everybody on the bus. If he had nothing to talk about or to do, he would smack random people on the bus. That's why I stayed in the front with the fucking bus driver."
Still, that tactic didn't keep him safe from smacks, though he says they were "love smacks." "He loves me so it's like a love smack. But the new niggas was gettin' wrecked." During the interview he also explained why Eminem wanted him killed. "Along time ago, I leaked an Eminem joint by mistake and they wanted to kill me," he shared

UN DISOWNS OFFICIAL’S COMMENT ON THE REMOVAL OF OIL SUBSIDY
The office of the Secretary-General of United Nations has issued out a statement distancing itself from the comments credited to the Special Adviser to Mr. Ban Ki Moon, Prof. Jeff Sachs who described the removal of fuel subsidy as a “bold and correct policy,” while visiting President Goodluck Jonathan last week.
The statement reads:
“Professor Jeffrey Sachs’ remarks relayed by the press on January 6, 2012 require clarification. Contrary to some press reports, Professor Sachs was not representing any official United Nations position on the removal of subsidy on petroleum products.
Professor Sachs was visiting Abuja to discuss and assist in Nigeria’s programs for the Millennium Development Goals and poverty alleviation.
The United Nations System in Nigeria takes this opportunity to stress its continued commitment to contributing to peace and stability in Nigeria.”
