Klaus Ziehe, lead court prosecutor in the central city of Braunschweig, in comments published by Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, said "the worst aspect is that he exploited their trust," after the 46-year-old German Catholic priest admitted before a court on Thursday to sexually abusing three boys over eight years, including one he was preparing for his first communion and two brothers during trips that included
Disneyland in Paris, abs-cbn news said. The priest, only named in court as Andreas L., who admitted abusing the boys from 2004, came to the court covering his face with a folder to the utter shock of attendees who shook their heads or covered their mouths when the charges were read aloud.
The cases may be partly behind disenchantment among the faithful accounting for 180,000 German Catholics who left the church in 2010 amid allegations that priests abused children for decades.
The German Catholic church faced some 600 demands for compensation as the government of Berlin set up a 100 million euro fund to pay for the therapy of the abused victims.
