As Ivory Coast’s footballer Didier Drogba gets busy on the pitch at the 2012 African Nations Cup, his mother Clotilde Drogba has also been getting busy cooking for the Ivorian fans.
Clotilde Drogba has a make shift kitchen at a dusty stadium on the outskirts of the Equatorial Guinea capital of Malabo, the Associated Press reports.
Some of her ‘delicacies’ include chicken and fish with rice, plantains and spicy sauces as fans who are up to 60 in number, line up to be served. Drogba however still eats at his hotel with his team mates.
It isn’t Mrs Drogba’s first attempt at her generous gesture as she also prepared food for fans at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
‘Everyone has their thing and what they like to do. This is not about my son, it is about supporting my country’, Mrs Drogba, wearing the orange of Ivory Coast, told AP after preparing lunch on Monday.
Dieder’s mum had watched the Ivory Coast’s opening two victories on a TV screen – in between cutting onions, tomatoes and chicken.
Drogba currently plays for Chelsea FC in London.
