ICE CUBE TALKS "FRIDAY" SEQUEL, SAYS CHRIS TUCKER MAY RETURN

Ice Cube gives a progress update on the new "Friday" sequel, and says that Chris Tucker may return as Smokey.

It was back in December that Ice Cube confirmed that he was on board to film the fourth installment of the acclaimed Friday series. Now, in an interview with Global Grind, Cube gives an update on the fourth and reportedly final film in the stoner comedy series and drops some news about one of the film's possible co-stars.

According to Cube, he is deep in the writing process of the film, which will be titled Last Friday. In addition, Cube  been in talks with actor/comedian Chris Tucker to reprise the role of Smokey from the first film. Although Tucker's return to the series has yet to be confirmed, Cube says that his former co-star seems to be on board.

"I'm still writing [the screenplay]. I'm still in the process, I'm deep into it...[the title is] Last Friday," he noted. "I want [Chris Tucker] to be in it. He's given us every indication that he's gonna be in it. Until he shows up on set, you never know. That's really how it goes."

Cube is also reportedly developing a vigilante drama series titled "Eye For an Eye" for FX. He will also appear in the Jonah Hill/Channing Tatum comedy 21 Jump Street in theaters this weekend.

DR. DRE SAYS N.W.A.'s CHILDREN COULD STAR IN BIOTIC

The crew's kids could possibly star in the upcoming film.

Instead of enlisting actors to depict the group in its upcoming biopic, casting agents for the flick are considering hiring the collective’s children. TMZ caught up with Dr. Dre in Los Angeles, California, asking the veteran musician if rumors were true that N.W.A.’s spawn would appear in the film.

“We’re talking about it… We’ll see what happens,” said Dre.

Ice Cube, who is producing the biopic, has discussed making the film for several years. As of September 2011, director John Singleton was being considered to helm the movie, tentatively titled Straight Outta Compton.

Jeezy reflects on his struggle to get his voice back in working condition.

Young Jeezy recently stopped by KYLD WILD 94.9 to speak with host Nessa, who asked the rapper to run down his top five rappers, dead or alive. During the interview, he revealed an unlikely assortment of emcees, a combination of the deceased and contemporaries.

“Tupac, B-Legit, Juvenile, Scarface and Jeezy,” he said, swapping out his own name at Nessa’s request. “Ice Cube,” he added.

The Snowman also reflected on hurting his vocal chords from not knowing how to properly perform. He said that his nine months off from recording was a learning experience, and that he’s far more invigorated following his recovery.

“Nobody ever taught me how to perform, in the studio or whatever. I just had to learn on my own, and I was yelling when I was performing and I tore my vocal chords. I wasn’t able to talk for nine months. I had to have surgery and it was just different, because I felt like I was going to lose my gift at that point. But I told myself that if I got through it, I was going to give it 180 percent and I got through it. So that’s where I’ve been at - at 180 percent.”
