She’s known as a role model for so many different reasons, and Kate Middleton was most recently recognized for her work as a volunteer.

The Duchess of Cambridge is the main attraction on the February/March issue of Scouting, a U.K. magazine dedicated to promoting scouts.
Aside from many of her generous projects, Kate was chosen as the cover girl after she performed some private volunteer work with the girl and boy scouts in the areas of Anglesey and North Wales.

The work she does with the scouts is just one of five charities she chose to take on as royalty and Kate is set to start officially touring some of them next month.

KIM KARDASHIAN DESIGNS SHOE TO MARK KATE MIDDLETON'S 30TH BIRTHDAY

An exquisite pair of black high heels has been specially crafted by Kim Kardashian to mark Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton's 30th birthday today. The American socialite and reality TV star Kim Kardashian informed that she and her group at their online footwear company have created the heels, known simply as ‘The Duchess,’ as a tribute to the future British Queen Kate on her royal birthday.

According to the 31-year-old, she designed the shoe especially for Kate Middleton’s regal requirements and this is akin to the ones the Duchess of Cambridge regularly wears to various events. Kim Kardashian, the Chief fashion stylist at ShoeDazzleUK, stated in a video to promote the shoes declared "I just wanted to wish the Duchess of Cambridge a really happy 30th birthday." According to Kim, she personally loved Kate Middleton’s style and felt that every woman should feel like a princess on a daily basis, she added.

The black shoe has a high heel of 4.5-inches set against a concealed platform. It is priced at £39.95 ($60.50) in the UK. The retailer has described it as delivering an "understated air of opulent elegance, looking both high fashion and high society."

Kate Middleton, wife of Prince William is understood to be ushering in her birthday with a 1980s-themed party being organized by her sister Pippa Middleton and brother-in-law Prince Harry, according to Daily Mail. However, St James's Palace has stated that the Duchess Kate Middleton will be celebrating her birthday in a low-key manner at a private event, but declined to give any details.

KATE AND WILLIAM SPEND NEW YEARS IN A LAP REINDEER TEPEE

According to British tabloids, newly married Prince William and Kate spent their first New Years celebration together as husband and wife with the Middletons in a tent used by the reindeer herders of Lapland. Their reindeer skin teepee called a Kata was rented by Kate’s sister Pippa from an upscale events planning company for the New Year’s Eve party she hosted in the backyard of her family home in Berkshire.

Earlier, the young couple’s New Year’s plans were disclosed as being a quiet weekend with William’s father, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla in Scotland. However, Wills and Kate were instead spotted earlier in the day by locals and were playing with the dog belonging to Kate's parents in their garden in Berkshire, in the village of Bucklebury.

But back to the Kata tent, it looks a lot like a Native American tepee and has an opening at the top as a vent to let out smoke. Traditionally, Katas are used by the semi-nomadic Sami of Lapland as portable homes, and also for specialized uses such as smoking fish. The Kata rented by Pippa, who has some experience as a party planner, was probably a man-made version that offers seating for more than 100 people and cost around £3,000 for the occasion.

Not to be left behind even the British Monarch Elizabeth is an animal lover. The 85-year-old royal is a proud owner of several Corgis which she has adopted since the past fifty years.

As per the royal itinerary and traditionally too, 29-year old Catherine Middleton will be required to spend her first Christmas, as a royal, with William's entire family at the Sandringham House. This massive Manor is Queen Elizabeth's holiday retreat in Norfolk, England.

A royal inside source informs that sans royal aides, parents or siblings by her side, the Duchess of Cambridge will learn very quickly that this is unlike any Christmas she has celebrated so far. It may be noted that none of Prince William’s in-laws have been invited for the festivity.

However, later on Kate and husband William, will be spending some time with the Middletons, as well. According to the source Pippa, 28, will be joining her sister on Dec. 26, 2011 for Boxing Day in Sandringham.

After which the trio Kate, William and Pippa will be traveling back together to Middleton’s home in Bucklebury. There they will be spending the remaining days of Christmas with the other family members of Kate Middletons’ family.
