HOW DON JAZZY SIGNED TIWA SAVAGE

The Mo’hits era is over and all parties involved are finally moving on.

We’ve seen D’banj remove himself from all things Mo’Hits, relocating overseas and signing a fresh recording deal with Mecury Records/G.O.O.D Music.

For several weeks now, questions have been asked about Don Jazzy’s future plans and if he will still hoist and fly the Mo’Hits flag with his loyal label mates .

Michael Collins, the revered sprung up a surprise last midnight, announcing a new record label and signing on the hottest female R&B act in the country!

Just this morning, Don Jazzy announced the signing of R&B-Pop singer Tiwa Savage to his new record label Mavin Records, scooping her from her former deal with events-media boss Cecil Hammond who has in the last few years overseen the singer’s career under his Flytime Promotions umbrella.

The pop act who is working to release her debut album will now feature with the former Mo’Hits clan in a new album ‘Solar Plexus’ set to be released tomorrow May 8, 2012.

Contrary to what is being speculated, about Tiwa dumping Flytime from Mavin, Cecil Hammond tells us there are no issues, insisting he  ’won’t say anything on the phone. Let’s schedule a meeting’.

However speaking with Mavin Records publicist Terfa Tilley-Gyado, he confirms that Tiwa has indeed been released by Cecil Hammond’s Flytime Promotions before signing unto MAVIN.

Mavin says Tiwa was signed two weeks ago after ending her contract with Flytime.

She had been in talks with Don Jazzy for several months, according to our investigations..

‘Yes she has been released from all contracts with Cecil’s Flytime and is now a full signee under MAVIN’, Tilley-Gyado told NET over the phone.

The status of Tiwa’s current manager Tunji ‘T Billz’ Balogun still remains uncertain as Mavin has hired a new management and PR company. Tilley-Gyado however says he cannot ascertain if Balogun will continue working with Tiwa.

‘I can’t say about that but she should retain her PR and Management team’.

All efforts to reach Tunji Balogun proved abortive as he did not pick his calls neither did he reply text messages sent to his phone.

Tiwa now joins the likes of Dr SID, D’Prince and Wande Coal who have steadily stuck behind the hit producer through the Mo’Hits saga and eventual split.

A comment on Twitter about the new development reads; This movie is gonna take a long time to play out. Don Jazzy does his own marketing. DBanj is gonna have to rely on the record company… Hmm’.

TIWA SAVAGE DUMPS AY (VIDEO)

I dont even know what to say this video... Lol.... enjoy

TIWA SAVAGE'S HOT KISS WITH FLAVOUR

Top hip hop cum R’n’ B singer, Flavour is one dude in the music arena of Nigeria that people have not been able to pin down with any babe in and outside the industry. However, strong romantic link is said to exist between the sexy singer and popular female singer, Tiwa Savage.

According to the information being peddled in the industry, Tiwa Savage who has become the darling of many in the country due to her powerful vocals has found her way into Flavour’s heart.

The rumor kicked-off after the release of Flavor’s new musical video entitled ‘Oyi’.

In the video, there was a scene where the light skin and slim singer passionately locked Tiwa Savage’s lips with his.

The gesture was so real and romantic that it generated a lot of response by fans of both musicians and music buffs. But while some people are of the opinion that it is a normal thing to see artistes acting out romantic roles that seem so real, close sources say that the kiss went beyond what was seen in the video as they swear that they have something stronger than what they displayed in the musical work.

We gathered that the duo have been in a romantic tie for quite sometime now though they have been able to keep it under the wraps and that they used the video to let out their emotions and show the whole world that they are really an items.

Others in the know say that the two have been very close to each other and have been spotted many times around Festac Town and that there was no way the chemistry could have been just a show.

VIDEO: NIGERIAN MUSICIAN 9ICE CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY AT ORIENTAL HOTELS LEKKI

Abolore Adegbola Akande aka 9ice celebrated his birthday last week at the Oriental Hotels Lekki, Lagos, and Purpleworld Entertainment has the video.

It was an ebullient event which had a good number of other celebrities and artistes in attendance.

Tiwa Savage, Damilola Purple, WizKid, Vector, Lord of Ajasa serenaded the audience.

The celebrant was not left out in the performance as they all thrilled the crowd and had them asking for more.

BETWEEN TIWA SAVAGE AND OMAWUNMI

Few years back when young songstress Omawunmi hit the limelight in music industry, she was oozing of innocence, but before people could blink an eye the pretty singer started emitting sexiness.

Omawunmi brushed up completely and hit the chat as one of the hottest cum sexiest singers in the industry. As if that was not enough, her gowns started moving up gradually that it almost hit the upper part of her thighs before she was sent on a nine months course.

The story now is that after completing this compulsory itinerary, Omawunmi’s gowns seem to be coming down gradually. Recently, it has been discovered that the beautiful mother of one has redesigned her gowns as they are coming below her knees and the reason behind her new found fashion is still a thing of puzzle to her numerous male fans.

However, insider sources revealed that after having her baby,a little sense of maturity come over her. Meanwhile, another talented singer,Tiwa Savage seems to have taken over from Omawunmi. This is because, everything about Tiwa oozes s*x,as she is one babe who does not believe that there are appropriate cum moderate outfits that will still present her as the sexy babe.

Once you think about Tiwa, the next thing that comes to mind is those bum shorts, see-through tops, micro mini-skirts and gowns. No doubt, she has completely taken over from Omawunmi in this area.

'PEOPLE ONLY WANT TO DWELL ON NEGATIVES' - TIWA SAVAGE

Popular Nigerian R&B singer Tiwa Savage has hit back at those criticizing her dress sense.

The 32-year-old, apparently fed up with the comments and critics took to her Twitter account on Wednesday, November 21, 2011 to speak out after a follower accused of ‘indecent dressing’ in public

‘Gonna speak my mind this morning. People only wanna see fault in others. No one speaks when I wear dresses. Why do you people only focus on certain outfits? No one talks when I wear gowns. People only wanna dwell on negatives’, she tweeted.

‘No 1 tlks wen I wear dresses, haters wanna make out like I only wear pant. Get a life. Truth is most haters do worse things behind clsd doors. @RandaAndrew my dear its unfortunate the criticism is not valid. If I was always naked then fine but truth is most times I am not’, she added.

After a few ‘retweets’ from her fans who were quick to side her, Tiwa concluded by promising to stick her guns and make sure nothing affects her from being the best at what she does.

Top 7 queens of the Nigerian music industry

Top 7 queens of the Nigerian music industry

THEY are women with substance, with something to offer their generation in terms of music. Closing the gulf that existed between the male and female artistes in the industry, they proved pundits wrong that what their male folks could do, they could equally do, if not even better.

Here are these females who have survived the gap between time and space, passed the test of time behind the microphone, who have worked against all odds and have written their names in gold…

WAJE

OUTWARDLY, she is a determined woman. Inside her is equally a bigger spirit of survival. Added to her quality is that strong sonorus voice which makes her irresistable.

Born on September 1st 1981, in Akure, she was brought into limelight on the platform of MTN/Zain’s Advance Warning Competition where she ranked top 3.

Then she featured as the amazing voice behind P-Square’s video Do Me. After that, she made a follow up with her single Kolo and lastly So Inspired where she featured sexy Muna.

She’s won the Hip Hop World award and is still striving to become a stronger force to be reckoned with in the industry.

KEL

She also ranks among one of the best when it comes to rap music. Kel began her music as far back as 2002 after engaging in it as a passtime. Her singles Wa Wa Alright, was a song where she appeared so strong and confident, speaking her mind to music lovers. The song broke into the hearts of music enthusiats, making her as strong as wild wind.

Later, she was signed on to Clarence Peter’s Capital Hill records but she’s since parted ways with the label.

The Satelite born and bread rapper is currently working on her new album. The album is said to feature collaborations with Artistes and Producers including Tha Suspect , Dr.Frabs, TY Mix, Bigfoot, Knighthouse and J. Martins

OMAWUMI

She’s known for the excellent fussion of English and pidgin in her songs. This has clearly stood her out among contemporaries in addition to her strong vocals.

For her, her music career started when se enlisted as a contestant in the 2007 West African Idol. She came out as the semi finalsit and followed soon with an outstanding single, In The Music.

Other top list singles of hers include Love Nwantinti, Today Na Today, Niger Delta, Thank God and of recently, If You Ask Me.

Aside singing, she’s been seen picking up roles on movies including Funke Akindele’s Return of Jennifer.

She’s also involved in humanitarian activities in support of female like Project Alert, Pink Pearl Foundation and Notes2Notes .

TIWA SAVAGE

She came from the blues, all the way from the U.S and blewour minds away. Kele Kele Love is one song both old and young can’t forget in a rush.

Tiwa is also signed on as a Songwriter with Sony/ATV, and has worked with big names such as Mary J. Blige, Fantasia Barrino and Babyface.

She contested on the UK’s X-factor, and was among the 24 finalists. She’s also released another singles Love Me Love Me which is presently rocking the airwaves.

MO’CHEDDAH

Nicknamed the hip hop princess because of her versatility in both rap and singing, Mocheddah ranks among one of Nigeria’s best female acts.

Picture of the day (Tiwa Savage)

At the age of 16 Tiwa Savage was destined to sing backup for George Michael. While puffing on her trombone near the back of the orchestra, Savage gazed through the rows of musicians and decided to position herself in the spotlight - singing in the front row.

An instant classic, folks about town in London started to take notice and she was soon sharing a stage with the "Faith" singer. Cementing her fate as an infectious musical force Savage went on to sing backup for Mary J. Blige, Destiny's Child, Chaka Khan, Spice Girl Emma Bunton, Kelly Clarkson, Andreas Bocelli, Sting, 50 Cent, The Black Eyed Peas, Eminem and Robbie Williams.

Currently, signed to Sony ATV as one of their premier songwriters, Savage will embark on a solo career and will release her debut in early 2011. Weaving an eclectic collision of influences on her record, the Nigerian native says her album will blend, "songs in my native language Yoruba and some straight up R&B soulful pop records."

Likening herself to an afro-pop Brandy, the singer, who also runs her own label 323 Music Entertainment with partner TJ (aka Tbillz), has collaborated with Chuck Harmony (Rihanna, Mary J. Blige), Warren "Oak" Felder (Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez), and producer So Sick on her debut.

An avid songwriter since the age of 15, sessions with such heavyweights as Babyface, The Underdogs (Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears), Brian Kennedy (Jennifer Hudson, Kid Sister) and RedOne (Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue) led to Savage writing hits like Jaicko's "Oh Yeah," which features Snoop Dogg, Kat Deluna's "Push Push" featuring Akon and with production by David Guetta, and Fantasia's "Collard Greens & Cornbread," from the album Back to Me.

But writing for herself has been more rewarding. "I have political songs like 'Middle Passage,' which is about the struggles of African men in a foreign country," says the Berklee College of Music scholarship recipient and graduate. "And I have a song called 'I Think My Boyfriend's Gay.' Now it's really about what I feel like writing.

Tiwa Savage Is Nigeria’s Hottest Female Act

She’s hot, even your mama knows it. It’s just been a year and she’s taken the number one spot as Nigeria’s hottest female act. Her name is Tiwa Savage and frankly speaking, she’s not playing games. I bet when she left the shores of Nigeria at the early age of 10, she never thought she would come back in grand style.

A lot of her fans including you, you and you don’t even know where she emerged from, but her sultry, sexy and sassy style has got us hooked like an 8-year-old with a sweet tooth in a candy store. Tiwa carries an aura of sensuality around her – something her counterparts have not been able to do for years. Maybe it’s just the right time a new diva emerges, taking a completely different approach from the divas of the older generation who one can say were more graceful and conservative (think Onyeka Onwenu, Christy Essien-Igbokwe, Evi Edna Ogoli).

All it took was one song; the pop smash hit ‘Kele Kele’, for the US returnee to grab the ear of the Nigerian listeners. But it was the video (which some would say is a spin off from Rihanna‘s ‘rude boy’ video) that got us more interested. Then when the buzz was at its highest peak, she released her second single ‘Love me, love me, love’, a similar tune with a catchy hook too. She recently released the video to the song – trust her to have flashed some skin here and there.

It played a ripple effect for the singer – the shows started coming in, award nominations and most recently she was chosen to headline the Hennessy Artistry and was also selected to be a co-host at the Nigerian Idol season 2.

The  32-year-old singer has fast risen to the top spot that she now occupies a position of envy in the community of Nigerian divas. Another aspect at which the singer excels over her peers is her energetic and captivating stage performances. Word has it that she now attracts a fee of N800,000 per show.

A few have however raised their noses at Tiwa, suggesting her style is too ‘raunchy’ for Nigerian viewership. But if we can let the foreign videos which pose more ‘threat’ make way to our homes, why not let one of ours follow suit

Hennessy Artistry announce this year’s artiste line up

Tiwa Savage Wants You To ‘Leave Slow’

Tiwa Savage has gained massive attention in the eye of the public with just two hot singles (and a hot body) as her ‘Kele kele‘ and the follow up singles ‘Love me, love me, love me‘ has moved her into the ranks of the top female R&B acts the country has to offer.
Her new song ‘Leave slow’ might run on a slower tempo compared to her previous works but the younger singer’s vocals captures an essential part of music – emotions. Her eloquent delivery matches with piano laced beat. ‘leave slow‘ might not have the same effect the last two did but it keeps waiting impatiently for her debut.
