VICTORIA BECKHAM TURNS CAR MAKER

British fashion designer Victoria Beckham has designed a special Range Rover off-road vehicle, called the ‘Evoque’.

‘I’ve stayed very true to myself. I’ve designed a car that I want to drive, a car that I think David wants to drive,’ the former Spice Girl told Reuters in an interview promoting the vehicle a few days ago.

The Evoque features exclusive, hand-finished matte paint, the first for a Range Rover.

The vehicle also has raised gold accents on the grille and gloss black forged alloy wheels. Inside, the four-seat coupe includes vintage-inspired leather seats, rose gold-plated accents and features trimmings of black lacquer, textured aluminium and mohair.

In addition, the vehicle has luxury accessories, such as a four-piece leather luggage set and a hand-sewn leather wallet for the owner’s manual signed by Victoria Beckham.

The special edition Evoque costs $129,000 (N20.6m), twice the cost of a regular model. Only 200 will be made, the first of which will be rolled out in China as early as October.

Beckham has begun to make a name for herself as a designer, and in 2011 picked up a British Fashion Award. But the singer-turned-designer says she ‘doesn’t want to run, before she can walk’ with her clothing collection, which has become a celebrity favorite.

Showing what a fabulous father he is, David Beckham treated his son Brooklyn to a Los Angeles Lakers game yesterday (March 4) for his 13th birthday.

The English soccer stud snagged a pair of courtside seats for himself and his boy to watch the home team beat the Miami Heat with a final score of 93-83.

And it looked like one of the finer father-son moments as David proudly wrapped his inked-up arm around Brooklyn for the whole arena to see on the jumbotron.

Earlier in the day, Brooklyn’s mom Victoria Beckham posted a photo of the family Bulldog Coco with a party hat and the caption, “Coco is celebrating Brooklyn’s 13th birthday!”

Toasting their countries Academy Award hopefuls, the GREAT British Film Reception to honor the British nominees of The 84th Annual Academy Awards took place in Los Angeles, CA on Friday (February 24).

Held at the British Consul-General Dame Barbara Hay’s Hancock Park residence, the red carpet festivities drew out former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, Best Actor in a Leading Role nominee Gary Oldman, who showed up with wife Alexandra Edenborough, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role hopeful Kenneth Branagh.

With the gathering also marking the Los Angeles launch of the GREAT Campaign, other guests on hand included Sophie Winkleman, Jeremy Hunt, Lucy Walker, Julian Sands and Rupert Wyatt.

Of the recognition received by English actors at the 2012 Oscars, UK Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt proudly said, "The UK has a truly world-class film industry, with amazing people both in front of and behind the camera. This not only contributes to the enormous success of Hollywood film studios but has a hugely positive impact on the British economy. While in town for New York Fashion Week, Victoria Beckham proved she had a sense of humor and posed under husband David Beckham's new underwear billboard and raised her hand as if she was grabbing his family jewels in NYC yesterday.

David actually posted the pic on his Facebook with the comment, "So proud of my wife taking #NYFW by the balls."

Coddle it like Beckham.

VICTORIA BECKHAM IN SHOPPING SPREE FOR DAUGHTER

Former ‘Spice Girls’ member, Victoria ‘Posh Spice’ Beckham is apparently on a shopping spree for 5 month old daughter Harper Seven Beckham as she was recently spotted stocking up on designer clothes at the Carmel Baby Store in London.

The 37-year-old wife of celebrated footballer, David Beckham, reportedly spent $645 on several items including $70 faux fur gloves, a $235 coat, $105 cardigan and a $235 party dress.

Victoria, who is also a fashion designer with her own range of sunglasses and fragrance, reportedly loves buying new outfits for daughter Harper, mixing designer and high street items.

Beckham has participated in five official documentaries and reality shows about her, including ‘Being Victoria Beckham’, ‘The Real Beckhams’, and ‘Victoria Beckham: Coming to America’.

Victoria Caroline Beckham is married to David Beckham and they have four children; Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James, Cruz David, and Harper Seven.
