Records are meant to be broken and that is what a couple of diehard fans of the Simpsons have also done – they sat glued to their TV sets and watched consecutives episodes of ‘The Simpsons’ for 86 hours and 37 minutes.
The Guinness Book of World Records has certified that Jeremiah Franco and Carin Shreve, both from California have indeed broken the earlier record by 31- minutes.
Each of them has won Simpson merchandise apart of a cash prize of $10,500.
A total of 100 participants took part in ‘The Simpsons Ultimate Fan Marathon’ event which was organized by Twentieth Century Fox and held in Los Angeles. The participants were allowed to eat and drink but sleeping was totally no-no.
The previous record had been set in 2010 by three fans.
